Surfriding Fast Elements Presents the Carolina Beach Freeride at Freeman Park!!

Kinda a newb to the forum but am a local to lake norman. Im gonna try and head out along with three or so other guys/skis. Oh and i highly recommend 4wd. Last year i saw a f250 on 44 18.50s sink 30 ft into the entrance to the beach. App his 4wd was broken. I believe its all in skill though! If the pizza boy can make it out there on the beach... Well enough said ha. So if you see a random guy on a orange sj w white hood thatll be me. Will camp on the point.

ANNOUNCEMENT: We have just learned that the town manager will be unable to section off a portion of the point for the freeride. So please everyone try and get out there as early as possible friday in order to secure yourselves a spot right on the water. Also try and keep the campsites close to other freeriders sites and so the skis won't be spread out all over.

I'm currently trying to secure a very large canopy cover and a few tables as a main wrenching station for any repairs and or modifications that need to be done on skis out on the beach!

Announcement! Please everyone make sure your skis are 100% legal to ride and try to have fire extinguishers at least nearby.

The USCG has been getting calls from people out at Freeman Park in the past few weeks from people saying couches were riding too close to swimmers out at the point so expect the Coast Guard to make an appearance at some point in the weekend.

Please try and keep maximum distance from any swimmers when leaving the beach and heading out into the inlet to ride!

Food for Thought: All the gas stations on Carolina Beach sell firewood for camp fires, but it's alot cheaper if you bring your own. It's like 5 dollars a bundle at the gas station. You also need a metal fire pit to burn the wood in!

[h=6]Cleaning out the garage, got some jet ski parts I was going to put on ebay. Let me know if anyone is looking for anything in particular. I can bring them to the Carolina Beach freeride - arriving Friday noon. Otherwise I'm in Raleigh NC.

I want to say thank you to everyone who came out this weekend and made this event happen! All in all I counted almost 40 skis and around 80 people came out this weekend, which in my opinion was amazing for a 1st time event!

This will now be a biannual event! Fall ride is being planned for mid September!

Pictures and video to come soon!

Big thanks for assembling the ride ! This is one of the best places for a freeride that I have seen so far . skis are 50 ft from you truck , fueling on the beach is OK , No POPO bugging you about your skis all weekend , pizza delivered on the beach from Domminos and other pizza places while you sit in you beach chairs drinking beverages and enjoying the camp fire . I gotta say it was one of the friendliest atmospheres also due to everybody doing the same thing ...CAMPING ! Met some great people and hope to see ya-all at the next NC Ride .
