Freestyle Feedback on Mag impellers in OEM pumps

I think your compairison is really poor but i'll go with it.

Everyone is motor OBSESSED. Just like in the car world. People love to cram giant horsepower in cars with stock suspension and street tires.

Since I don't give 2 :):):):)s about flat water, I'm convinced a nice limited motor is all you need before you move on to other mods. 6-10k motors are fun to talk about but not the point of riding or the key to the next level of riding.

well the motors are cool as shiat but i think it is safe to say that alot of people are getting caught up in the big bore motors before they have a good pump setup that is adjustable enough to handle the motor and TL. they finally get the motor and have nothing left for making it work good. I got a good pump/tbm combo from legdrag years before i got my motor and people said it would be too much for a 701. it was a bit but you alway bore bigger and make things lighter. i would for sure put slicks on a miata before i put the v8 in it. same with my banshee, no pipes until i put good tires on it. how much slippage do you want right?

I ran a TBM stubby pump cone on the fx1 with a bored reduction nozzle with an ocean pro steering nozzle. On the mag I will be running the cone on it, and thrust trim setup with a protec steering nozzle.

the mag you will be running the tbm stubby cone? i guess with trim nozzles alot of them come with the reduction nozzle. does the thrust have changable ring diameters?

the mag comes with a billet tail cone. use your reduction nozzle.

That's what I was referring to, then running the thrust setup for reduction, trim ring an steering nozzle. The TBM is staying with the fx.

I don't believe thrust has different diameter rings, but that's a guess as they aren't on there website.

is that jetmaniac a 144 or 148? I thought that skat had a package where you choose either 6,8,12,14 veins, and one prop, then get three tail cones and their venturi reduction nozzle with 2 sized rings. it was over 2000 bucks. I may be wrong, I have never ordered a mag. I always thought that was the point of the mag, the adjustability. the setback offers higher speeds and better hookup.

that is why it is cheap compared to the full mag package. still a good deal if you want half a mag i guess. you don't have much adjustability and are stuck with prop changing to make it work. I think the XFT trim nozzle had the adjustable ring diameters so that would be a good one to bolt onto it. and would just have to order the other two cones from skat. I think if i did a mag i would go with the 148mm. go big then go home.

1100 + 890 trim/reduction+ two more cones= ouch i will use my tbm

Art was saying he could custom pitch a C75 impeller for my bigbore and it would hit alot better than a 10/16 hooker

I will say this about Art, whatever he tells you IS the gospel and IS correct! It took me a while to learn to listen to what he says, but so far-everything he has told me has been dead on the money/Hp. I don't get big discounts for the huge Jetworks stickers on the sides of my ski-I simply believe in them and what Art can do that much!

Talk to JD before you jump into the 148. He had one. Too much prop for his 865SS. 144 is perfect for his setup.

what 148 did he have, did he use the stock reduction nozzle? I cannot see how a 148 is to big for a 865 when the 144 was built for a 650.
