A cheap hull is cheap quality. You get what you pay for in most all forms of motorsports. That's not the answer at all lol. Look what happen to all these other cheap 3k hull builders with customers famous 600 page long pissed off threads.

A cheap hull doesn't necessarily equate to cheap quality. It all boils down to manufacturing. Currently, the "expensive" and nice aftermarket hulls are hand laid. The labor for one of these hulls is immense, not to mention developing the hull through various mold revisions. To use this business model and try and make a cheap hull leads to massive cuts in quality to meet demand and turn a profit if you're lucky (and you're probably not). If somebody were to take a hull that works and mass produce it, quality can remain exceptional while cost goes down. A good example is Rickter... can't imagine the profit they are raking in.

Bottom line, you can't expect the smaller hull manufacturers to work as hard as they do and not get paid what they are worth. A mass production model could work... but people in this community are always wanting the next, newest best thing. FFF seems to be going down the road of a mass produce-able ski. We'll have to see what happens.

Does anyone really know what they want their ski to be, other than, "cool" ? Racers seem most interested in winning the race. Freestyle/freeride is an ever changing pageant.

marketing is overblown before an actual product is produced
they need to just get units out to riders to compete and evaluate
this is what rrp xscream superfreak etc have done to be successful
this forces development on the product to not fail

I thought about this a long time ago. The chassis looks very expensive to manufacture, but one of their photos shows the chassis does exist.. So I guess they have figured that out.

I want strong, light, easy to build, easy to work on, nice finish, great ride characteristics, lifetime warranty, and as cheap as possible. :)

If I'm reading the warranty correctly, as soon as you bolt your pump, motor, pole, etc into the hull, you void the warranty. As well as adding footholds, pissers, bilge outlet, etc.

  1. The use of any fastener other than the fasteners supplied by the manufacturer with the hull.
  2. Any cutting or drilling of any bonded or fastened part or surface of the hull.

Not sure what school they went to but I’m sure there little school project was very through and taken seriously. In school you have the advice and wisdom from professors and time and resources to do things to the best of your ability. I went to a little no name engineering school that cost about the same as a local community college and my school project landed me a US granted patent. So lol at those of you they say its “just a school project”. From what I can see they launched with a prototype which I personally don’t think was to wise, however, they haven’t given up yet. It’s with determination dedication and perseverance is what will make this hull successful and It shows they clearly have not given up. Wish they could get one to the many south east freerides. Stoked to ride one, love the innovation.

I'm sure they are about to find out. Curious to see if we end up with some carbon bike builder expertise getting thrown in there for a carbon frame.

I agree with you. I don't understand why people want to bring each other down, when they should be bringing people up.
