tonights progress:

I was able to spend a few hours tonight. I managed to sawsall a bit through my rideplate area... nothing a little epoxy and glass wont fix though. Defoaming is a B I T C H, overall the foam was pretty dry with the exception of around the exhaust and the pump area. I also foamed the hood, will prob start shaping it tomorrow.... guess i need to also get a list and place an order with us composites. Kenny, would you mind shooting me a pm with what you used so i can have a rough idea how much shiot i will be needing.

also got the defoaming done with the exception of a couple of spots here and there... think a pressure washer will meeting the inside of the hull before i go to seal and glass it. I also got the exhaust out and the back of the hull cut.

Mocked up my internal fuel fill, no the tape will not be permanently :icon16:

some things i am wondering:

1)with the foam as my template for my hood would it be best to lay a few layers of glass on the foam and extend it along the sides of my hood, then after it sets remove the foam and glass it from the inside? I was also considering running glass all the way across from one side of the hood to the other so its a nice transition, good idea or bad idea? I believe i can sand the glass so there is no transition visible on the outside of the hood, but would like input before i begin. any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

2) i went and looked at one way valves at lowes and home depot today, HD had one like i linked above but it was like 1.5'', mabye 1.25. lowes had a white pvc valve with a much higher tension spring in it and it was in any size i would want, it just looks different than the HD one. Would I be ok to use the small diameter oneway or would it be a waste of time?

3) look at the pic with the line drawn on the back of my hull, my friend is trying to convince me to cut the corner off and foam and glass back to that shape. who thinks i should do it?

im making a list for us composites. I was thinking about using all 1208 knytex biax. anyone know if this stuff is easy to sand for a good finish or should i also get some woven cloth, my main concern is the finish for the hood.

i did use foam in a can, i will be getting some more us composites two part along with my glass that i plan on pouring on to shape it a bit more bc there are some holes that i want to fill. i like the way you did your nose, i may do the same.

been really busy so have not got too much done. I made the oneway and the internal fill tonight. I have yet to place an order with us composites ( im lazy as hell) so i just used jb weld to glue the one way in instead of 5200. I also began grinding the ribs down..... I think i may invest in a side grinder bc my belt sander is taking WAY to long. Oh and Nelson, you jinxed me lol. I took a look at the hood tonight and it has definitely shrunk, looks like i will be reshaping it again
