Footrocket Build

I have no intentions of a hood strap. My latch is very tight, plus the hood sits in the hull, not just on it, so it's not like it can get knocked off very easily... I've not had any doubts about it yet. The strap is just extra hassle in my opinion. I had plastic clip straps onmy Octane to suppliment the latch system as extra security, but that was a boat that's notorious for loosing hoods.

Cant wait to see that thing in action this summer!

Sank my RN once because the stock hood latch broke during a failed barrel, i also had hood straps, but they also failed. Since then i have been running x-metal hood hooks, Jetmaniac's brap strap and hood straps, my hood doesnt move at all anymore.

so is mine but if your in daytona ill show you an issue that i ran into with my hood...(crack)

I run a Blowsion hood latch on my Footrocket (after the stock one broke, luckily my hood straps held up) but I have on occasion put 1 zip tie around each strap for some added security

I would like to run a latch for the quickness of filling up with fuel. Where we ride big yachts come out all day. When we see one come out of the marina it time to hurry up and hit the water. My stock latch is on its last limb with cracks on both sides so I will be ordering a blowsion latch. just waiting for daytona to be over before I really order any parts.

I also run the blowsion latch on my Footrocket and it works great. I set mine up so tight I have to hit the latch with my palm a couple times to be able to lock it and it almost hurts the hands undoing the latch it's so tight. My hood never budges and I've done hundreds of flops on it.

Alright cool. I think this friday then I will order a set of cold fusion prongs and hooks. While i'm ordering those, has anyone using a solas 144 mag had to use a midshaft spacer on this hull?

On mine there is clearance built in to the bulkhead, so no need to run a mid-shaft spacer (on mine). Doesn't matter what pump you are using.

I got the Blowsion hooks because they're higher than the Cold Fusion ones. I had both in hand when building, and I'm glad I went with the Blowsion. I took a picture of how my prongs mounted so you could see what I was talking about with how limited the space to mount them is, but I'll have to post it later... I think the Cold Fusion hooks just wouldn't have worked, at least for my hood. Don't know if others are different.
