what about taking a piece of scrap metal 1/8'' or so thin in the size you want it, drill a hole through it, stick a tee nut through the hole, and maybe jb weld the base of the tee nut to the metal? just my though to save even a little more coin for something you wont see after its turfed over.

That's basically what I did except I found that it was cheaper to buy clinch nuts instead of T nuts and JB weld.

why pay 40$ for something you can get for 8$ from lowes? furniture hardware with 1/4 20 thread whole.they are less than 4$ for 4 you drill the whole then put epoxy on then and screw them in. and then done.no glassing over or chopping up your hull! you can do it after turfing also and thw straps cover up your hardware. what more can you want ...... mine have held great with bad wrecks from over 10 feet in the air

I used these on my rickter and hadn't read this thread in a while. I did it when I recieved my hull so the turf was on it. All I did was trace the square onto the turf and cut it out with a razor blade. Then I sanded the tray a little, drilled a hole in each corner of the black plastic and used plexus to attach it to the hull. I have rode this ski 6 times so far, 3 in the surf and 3 flatwater and have had 0 issues with them so far. If they do pull off which I doubt they will but I will simply re-plexus if needed. No matter what when drilling in the tray and glassing it seems that water still makes its way into the foam, kinda like installing footholds, tough to get it perfectly sealed and for it to stay sealed :)

Thanks for all your tips here. I got the parts, now i have to glass-n-turf !

I think I might do this with my superjet seems better than just sinking some drywall screws into the tray
