Are you using a heavy duty coupler?

Like @Quinc said, try attaching the coupler to the headpipe and work the chamber on, or reverse and clamp the coupler down on the chamber and try installing it on the head pipe. You will find a method that works for you. Like anything, lube is your friend!

Don't let these old guys get you down Rosey, they're just angry that they are married and have to work everyday (except for Aquaholic) to afford this sport...

on the chamber side, cut the coupler at a slight angle, this makes the hole actually larger. On the Head pipe side, you could do the same. I always put the coupler on the chamber and have the chamber clamped to the waterbox when installing the headpipe. That way you have something to hold the chamber.

Wow, I'm pretty much lost for words on this hull. It's impossible to explain without riding it, but I'll try! Now that I've truly got some time on it and am very comfortable on it, I am mad in love with it. First of all, my ported 701 hits very hard when needed and has quite the snap to it. If you've got a setup with poor throttle response, a freestyle hull ain't gonna be real fun. With my motor, my ski does pretty much whatever I want for the limited time ive been on it.
My ride report:
I'm coming from a full length superjet, so of course this was a HUGE change. But, the hull is very stable at low speeds and was real easy to start tight turning and making setup wakes right away. With it being so short, I thought it would ride really nose high but it's super easy to keep the nose down. I weigh about 165 for reference. With this ski being so short, it's awesome how quick it turns, and slashing turns and waves is super easy. I'm so used to the nose subbing on a superjet, so it's a nice change.
It is definitely a freestyle ski, and that's why I love it so much. It's perfect for my riding style. Lately I've discovered how fun 180s are, not off of a setup wake. Just going barely above plane and doing a 180 is a ton of fun on this hull. It spins super quick, and recovers instantly. With no intake grate, I figured it would slide out alot, but it never does. The intake and hull design keep it hooked up pretty darn good.
Flips-This hull just wants to rotate. I finally started putting some form into my flip attempts today, and I'm getting about 2/3rds around. I'll get some footage the next time I go out. I' m confident my ski is able flatwater flip, I've just gotta get some more practice.
High speeds-This is a short, light, very rockered ski. Going WOT or even close to WOT is quite interesting. In general, this hull is extremely sensitive to weight distribution, and if you put a little too much weight on one side when riding fast, you're in the water before you knew what happened. I'm sure with enough practice you could rip it WOT with no issues, but for now I really don't care to. It's fine for chasing boats, but not the most fun in heavy chop.

It was a risk buying a hull I've never ridden, especially when I wasn't sure I just wanted something that was designated for freestyle(yes, you could shred it in small surf with good success I'm sure). Well, turns out it's probably the best jetski related decision I've ever made. I'm confident I'm going to grow a lot on this hull, even with my 701 platform for now. I rode a couple superjets today, and I don't think I could ever go back...My only complaint? I wish I could just yank the throttle and effortlessly hold WOT sometimes, but otherwise I'm actually content with something for once :)

So I fixed the battery issue. I don't know how but I didn't realize that the battery could move back and forth about an inch in the tray.. Fixed that with some padding. Also knotted the strap so it took almost all my strength to get it on. It's not coming undone again. With a B pipe it sucks getting to the battery. Had to take off one cooling line, remove stinger from coupler, slide waterbox forward, and move the headpipe and chamber backwards and tuck it down a little. Then I could finally get to it lol..

You need to make a strap tool. Take the longest flathead screw driver you dont care about, harbor freight is a good source. Grind a notch in the center of the head of it just wider than the strap metal, basically the thickness of the disc, about 1/8" deep.

If you are unsure what i mean, quote a reply ill post a picture tomorrow.

Happy to hear everything is working out! Next year I will have to come down to Okauchee and hang out for a weekend to try your ski and rip some of the boat wakes. I'll have my Hurricane ready to rip too. Now if we can get @chadman154 off his lake.......

I heard it's hard to get him to leave his house, lol :)
Maybe I need to find some time and build my rip.....

How fast can you cruise without feeling like you're going to be tossed off? I've ridden several short freestyle hull that are still capable of speed burst to chase down boats, etc. This price on these intrigues me, but I'd really like to ride one first. I don't want a hull that is a puddle pond toy

I do not think you will get an unbiased response here.

Yeah, I am a little biased ;)
I'd say at about 30ish it gets sketchy. But, I don't have a problem chasing boat wakes. And next year when the water warms up I'll work on going faster.

Ill give you an unbiased opinion...you cant go WOT long at all before the ski is all like "Bye Felicia." Like hardly long enough to even call it WOT. However, you can chase boats no problem. What I found made everything less sketchy is continuous WOT burst. So like BRAAAP BRAAAP BRAAAP instead of BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
