Holy crap. Yesterday I totally was brain dead I swear. 5 minutes this morning and it was a cake walk. Pressing the seal in like I did yesterday was all I had to do.. I didn't have to move it further like I thought. The shelf was already exposed. I was using the stock washers the have the recess and that caused it to rub on the seal.. LOL
I flipped it over, tightened it by hand and it worked! Then I took that off, put a skinny washer on and torqued her down tight. Spins perfect :)

My only question, is it okay to have it that close to the hub? I tightened it very tight by with a 12 inch wrench so I'm not sure if the engine is gonna make it slip back more.

Cut that prop back on the lathe some more. The bottom the blades should be as close to the stator hub as you can get them. Like a piece of paper away from touching.

Hey, some actually helpful advice ;)
Okay sweet! Is if okay that the end of the prop is that close? Or will the motor tighten it down further?

Im gonna ride Sunday but then for sure. Need to find someone with a lathe around here, or I may just send it to speedysprocket because I know he can do so..

You need to do it locally. You'll have to re-install the prop and check after cutting, then make the decision to cut more.

Easier to cut multiple times than take too much off in one shot and have to shim the prop back off the stator.

I'll run it this weekend, but it's something to play with to get the max out of my wimpy 701 ;)

I would get the options of several builders and prop manufactures before you take one post as Gospel. Just run it

Are you being serious and telling me it's okay to be a stubborn little punk as usual and question the advice thats already been given to me?

I made a comment the other day about Pump tuning. The space between the blades and the vanes is part of this equations, You can shim the prop out if you need it to be looser (not load as hard) or closer to be loaded tighter..... Every setup is different.

That's why Gil always hated a tbm pump cone on his skis. Wouldn't slip and spool up fast enough for flat water.

In surf I loved it because it hooked up great in white water.

Yeah I need mine to spool up ASAP especially for low speed flips.

All Gil cared about was his ski idling perfect for 11 hrs straight
