Wet suit weather is gone and daylight is on our side. Those can't be used as excuses anymore. Looks good. Leave the rails turfless it's easier.

@FlightPlanDan. How hard was it to re use the rubber on the gunwale ? I wanted to do that on mine and didn't want to start ripping it apart.
The hardest part is getting them off in one piece after Yamaha puts them on. They use something a lot harder than super-glue. It's a miserable thing.
This is the 3rd time that I've used this pair. Although I used contact cement to install them, I don't think it's the best glue for the application.
I'll likely be re-glueing them with something else in the near future.
However, I'm glad that I used them. It took a good bit of complicated turf cuts out of the mix.
I still butchered the vertical sides with the footholds, but it could have been worse. lol.

I finished the turf today after work. (Except the chin-pad). Still not sure what I'm gonna do about it.

The heat was key for a lot of areas.
BUT: I have a new level of respect for those that do turf well. Anything short of what Butti did for me last time was gonna be unacceptable.
Well, as the job went on...those high principles and expectations fell by the wayside. At this point I just want the damn thing in the water.
It looks pretty good from 30'.

Gotta pick up a battery.
Now that all of the dash stuff is installed I can button up the engine compartment. Just primer lines, bilge wiring, splash guard to go before firing it up.
It will be water tested this coming weekend.
I expect a few glitches. Steering cable adjustment, carb tweek etc...

Hey thanks for the lengthy reply. I'm gonna try not to break mine
Sorry for the length....
I used the reply as an opportunity to say a few other things.

The good news is that the Yamaha glue is only around the edges. It's still a miserable job. But, it's do-able.
A chisel will be handy. Then pick the hard stuff off a bit at a time, while drinking.

I've decided to turf the old stock-cut-up chinpad. Tomorrow.
Just cause I wanna get the pics out of the way and wreck the thing. (not really) .
Might get a better chinpad later, but I'm not gonna let it hold up the works at this point.
Water Temp is over 60.
Another few degrees and a wet suit won't even be needed.
The stars are aligning.
