I was wondering when someone with the financial backing was going to create something like this.
Initial cost very high, productions cost, fractions of current methods. Interested to hear how it performs.

Also, what is this hulklite stuff? Website says its not fiberglass or carbon... I assume it is more of a plastic based design from the flex it has int he pictures of it being hit with a hammer..

Anybody know these guys????? Never heard of them......... Interesting their "Shop" shows a bunch of shirts, everything is "Sold Out"........

Yes. I am being skeptical........... Great Presentation. Best I have seen.
Simple web coding will show either a in-stock or sold out. easier that going back later and adding in a notification when they begin to roll out production.

^ i agree, some kind of extruded mold maybe

they are also claiming unsinkable. Bold, cant wait to see these being tested.

Pretty darn cool. And a very good looking hull. My only concern is the flex in the plastic. I know that is the sea-doo sparks weakness. Some of the supercharged sparks in races have to much flex in the bottom of the hull and they are snapping driveshaft at the splines and couplers too just off of waves. I would be worried that a freestyle hull with the amount of torque and abuse it goes through would have the same effect. I hope it goes well as these guys should never have issues in not having stock and having to wait for your hull to get built. Cant wait to try one! good work guys.

Definately an interesting concept. The hood opening was my first observation as well.

When I see the flex, it reminds of the material they use to make modern snowmobile hoods. That stuff is light, incredibly flexible and nearly indestructible. The hoods are pretty thin but in a thicker panel that stuff would be awesome.

With that much flexibility, the driveline would need some sort of a backbone to keep it all aligned but I am sure they have thought of that. From the looks of their presentation, this has been in the works for quite some time and it's seen it's share of real world testing.

My only question is how did they keep this under wraps for so long?

Yeah I was thinking the same. I like the effort and the thought for sure. But I'm truly not seeing how it's gonna reinvent the sport.

Only way it'll truly reinvent the sport is if it comes down a few thousand dollars. The biggest thing holding this sport from advancing is the high cost to get involved. I'm sure alot of money was needed to start up this project, and tons of time went into it. In the future maybe it will come down in price. The labor to create a hull like this isn't anything compared to building a glass or carbon hull, at least from what I understand. I'm no expert, but isn't this hull injection molded? Im curious what the materials cost, and if this material is anything like what a rigid kayak is made of.
If anything this might encourage other builders to step up and possibly start creating some new things..

^^^ That wont stop the driveshaft from being stressed/bent if the hull turns into a taco front to back.
True, but the upper and lower deck will counteract each others forces to prevent this. A side panel flexing vs the whole ski is a different story. I have a feeling it wont flex much at all like people think it will. I didnt see any wiggle in the drop off the tailgate video.

Wow. What the heck why not make a flexible driveshaft to boot. If these could be sold in groves for $2500. Imagine. How quickly they would be everywhere. Sold in quantity would be sweet. I'm just dreaming. $6500 is straight crazy. But you rich some biotches need to pick these up quick.

I don't have a problem at all paying $6k+ on a good quality proven hull. I don't think price is at all to blame on the movement of the sport or lack of. It's forever been a small sport. It's a Motorsport.... compared to other 2 I also do jetskis is the cheapest. Racing motocross 17 years was never cheap. Today your just shy of $10,000 to get new 450 with it outfited/setup to race it let alone all the membership needed and track fees, then drag racing hurt more then all my hobbies haha so 20k in a ski isn't so bad.

Are you going to be selling your skis for 2500? =P

6500 is fair. Now if they could do financing that would be a game changer for a/m hulls!

You are confusing cost of entry with cost of competition. My 1st dirt bike was $1500 and worked perfectly until I sold it. My *second ski* was a superjet for $2800 and still needed to put parts on it regularly in the beginning. The $2800 dirt bike is going to be mint, make tons of power, and need nothing but the filter cleaned for a while. Realistically, the cost of entry into our sport is about $5-8k if you are going to buy something in good condition, slightly upgraded and RTR, with a low probability of impending maintenance.

My YFZ 450 was used stock for $2800. I bought $400 nerf bars and went to the track. I had plenty of power and zero maintenance, zero technical ability needed.
My superjet was $2800, a turd until I put a $800 pipe, rebuilt the carbs $100, put a head on it $300, prop $250, and in the first year I had to replace the bearing housing $250, battery cables $50, lots of technical ability needed.

Some of us make a lot of money, others don't have kids. The rest of us don't have $20-30k for a jet ski for one person in the family.

I recall seeing screenshots of a cad model at Daytona many moons ago. Impressive for sure that it was kept under wraps, I figured the project died. Makes me wonder who they were getting there advise / opinions from during development. Sure looks promising. Good job guys
