it is truely amazing to see how many options for A/M hulls are out there right now it seems only a couple of years ago we really had very little choice
i just want to start by saying that for me $$ is not really a consideration for me when im looking at hulls, if there is a hull i want i would get it....
also im not a hardcore rider, i dont flip or roll, i just enjoy riding
i previoulsy had the WDK REV, i actually liked this hull (no one else did in my riding group) i ride mainly flatwater and it did take some time to get used to but i found i got alot more air and rotation on this hull than i did on a stock RN, but i found i hated it in surf or any chop, jumping waves meant a good ball slap on landings as it tended to go nose high
next i got a 08 WCF, similar to riding a stock RN 08, personally didnt like it...
my current hull is a ROK, and i feel lucky to be one of the few that have them, cost was not an issue for me, in fact i paid over retail price to buy it from someone who had it already just so i knew i got it. i like the fit and finish, it took a little while to get used to but i do like this hull, again im mainly flatwater and the couple of times i have had it in surf im not as comfortable, but then im not a surf fan. some guys at wavedaze rode my hull and seemed to have no problem shredding this thing. i have been running a JM 718 with t/l on this hull and its been great .. no complaints.
local rider recently got a gen 2 bob, from what i saw the fit and finish was fine, few areas where it wasnt perfect, but then you can get that with a stock RN hull too. it definately rides light, feels like it rides lighter than the rok, i didnt get a great deal of time on the ski but id consider this hull
couple local guys have rickters, FS-2, XFS, I was also at ATP HQ when they off loaded two XFS's one glass and one carbon, the fit and finish on all thes rickters ive seen is second to none, a work of art!
I like the look of the WCF Vision, Blow XS1, Lightweight also and would love to try these on flatwater to see if they suit my style of riding
this is and always will be an emotional subjective topic as everyone loves the ski they ride! (until they sell it and then they love the one they are buying)
