Frosty's '98 dismantle and 2010 Freeride Superjet Build

well, lots to do. got the 4 layers of paint and 4 layers of primer off and finally reached gelcoat.

Still rollin lots of ideas around (since i have all winter) - and i am not 100% sure of what i wanna do.

so far my plan is:
- custom cut and lower stock hood - already removed oem liner
- install a one way valve
- not using two part foam, but rather polystyrene foam that will NOT absorb water - like the SXR. and will weigh a ton less than 3lb 2 part foam.
- replace all pump & ride plate inserts - they were all stripped out
- already reinforced inside, but will be reinforcing tray area sides
- tubbies for sure
- putting a ported 701cc in it
- minus 6" AC pole - custom cut by Brian Proformance1
- internal fuel filler
- lots of XMW (water box, hood hooks etc)
- lots more - most of this build will come following daytona though.

Looks like fun:banghead:

I might have some extra hull inserts from a FX1 if you need them. I also have a stock SJ hood if you can use it.

I forgot!
cool, another 96 project, are you going to weigh it once its complety stripped down? id be curious to see what you get it down to as compared to what i got mine at. post it up once you get that far, if you don't mind.

i weighed it after i got all the foam out... no footholds, no exhaust tube, just the hull. Heavily reinforced, it came in a 98lbs. I bet there is about 5-8 lbs of biaxial and resin in the motor compartment though.

I forgot!
98lbs isn't to bad for a hull if it is already reinforced. you must have lost a pound or so on sanding all the layers of paint off too. sucks when you get it nice and light then have to start putting the weight back on while assembling it.

i think you should scoop the rail caps like wcf does
flows awesome
nice trans-former stand yourself!

LOL - yeah, it works.

I was thinking about cutting the rails... I like the look of the WCF hulls.

started sanding the bottom today... still lots of work...

well, i had a little time before hooking up the plow for the big snow storm we are expecting later. So I decided to do a little more sanding of the bottom, and cut the rear bond line off.
