It hasn't been a great summer so far. I worked on my ski all winter. Finished just in time for WAvedaze spring edition. The day after I got home this happened. Both myself and the ski will recover. Not sure about my bank account though.

A bass fisherman in a tournament ran my ass over. I was cruising up the lake...Hadn't seen a boat all evening. I turned quickly back in the direction I had been traveling and the boat knocked me through the air. My guess is he was trying to buzz by me but hit me instead. No other boats were around. He had the entire lake to pass me but chose to just hold his line I guess. The TWRA officer found me at fault by the way. He made it clear he didn't care for standup pwc either.

This happened MAy 2nd and I got back on the water this past weekend!! My fx1 is still down for a while but parts are on the way.

sounds like crap to me. although i tell my buddies who ride that they need to pay attention to everything around them because no one else will. craps sucks man. hope you get your ski fixed fast!

Our local "Gods of the lake" (bass fisherman) think they own the right to do whatever they please and the law sides with them most of the time.l always have a case of the azz for them.

I thought that whenever you were over taking someone it was on you not the person in front of you? Took the boaters test 10 years ago but thats how I've always acted on the lake.


Plus he was obviously closer than 150 feet to you.. I would have sued his ass.

Ya that's the same dumb ass argument the the officer gave. It's not like we met perpendicular at a 4-way intersection or something. He approached me from directly behind. I turned to the left in a 10ft radius 270 degrees. If I had simply let off the throttle he may have hit me in the back.

Thanks, that does make me feel a little better.

I was served a criminal summons one month after the accident. I had to go to the jail and be booked. I did however make the front cover of the city 'busted' paper! 'reckless operation of a vessel - failure to maintain proper lookout'
