This is very cool.

Just let me get it straight, you pulled the motor mounts out of the hull you are working on and re glued them in the right place? How did you pry them loose?

I am getting some of that glue tomorrow. It looks sweet!

In theory if it can fit an FX-1 it should fit in an X2 right?

Did I mention I am starting to mold X2 hulls?

Then I just need to get an exhaust and an intake figured out...........

You would be amazed on how useful a heat gun is:arms: Get the mounts hot, not hot enough to melt them but damn near.............then start prying..........once they break loose you just walk it down with heat and pry bar. Pretty easy actually:Banane09: The glue is available at any automotive paint and body store. It takes a special gun to apply but you should be able to use the one they have for a deposit. We use the stuff so much that FX-6.9 Boy just bought the gun ($70)

Why didn't the back mounts line up just fine? They line up on the X-Jet. I'd be a little cautious if those are old mounts... you're doubling the stock horsepower, the mounts might not last long. The GP's come with stiffer mounts.

the GP mounts are not like the fx-1 mounts. the pedestal on a fx-1 are flat like a blaster. the superjet and gp's mounts are the same shape with the same angle pedestal.

Doesn't the X-Jet have three mounting places per side? I guess we are just too stupid to do this build.............honestly, every time we work on it the only people I see in my shop are FX-6.9 Boy, Yamahammer, and me. I guess there's a hater cam somewhere in the shop  When I find it I'm gonna spray paint that mofo

You can't put the GP mounts in the FX-1, because you're right the bosses on the hull are angled on the FX-1. But you should be able to mount the GP engine to the FX-1 rear mounts. The FX-1 uses the same bedplates as the Superjet, remember.

On the X-Jet, the back mounts line up and the front ones are moved a few inches foreward to allow use of the 800. So as long as you used the FX-1 shortshaft, you should have been able to use the OEM rear mount location IMO.

I like what I see here.:Banane01: I recently read a post about the decline of new PWC being sold in the US. Now I know why they aren’t selling new ones. It guys like you with your ingenuity and determination that make this country great. I put that motor (66E) in my X-jet and it diffidently woke the ski up. It was like putting on after burners. The only problem with it is I am running side exhaust and it sounds like Forces funny car at the track. It will be a winter project to move the exhaust to the rear.

Look forward to seeing more pictures. :cheer: :arms:

the rear mounts are going to be really cool...we're going to build a sort of rear bedplate that will be super strong...pics coming when we get that done next week...later

Dang Buddie, I hope I can pull that off................I've only been in the custom fab industry a couple of years  With enough prayer, and finger crossing maybe I can pull it off..................Truth be known..........I can't wait to fab up the rear mounts..............the dual pipes................the trim.................the ....................:sneaky: ...............I'm getting ahead of myself.................out
