Gabe & Steff's Krash Predator Build

Bought this hull new last summer and it sat around waiting for it to cool off so I could get started on the build! That being said, it might hit the 60s again this week so who knows? Anyway, first AM hull and first extensive Yamaha involvement...here's a pic from a couple of months ago.IMG_2450.JPG

Donor motor runs great but has a nasty-looking starter so that'll get replaced with a high torque from WSM.IMG_2537.JPG

Sweet man! You don't need that cold fusion spacer. That part was designed for bulkheads that were just flat. Starter rebuilds are tricky! Have fun!

Thanks! Too late on the spacer...I guess it doesn't hurt anything!
Got blank engine mount plates because I was originally planning on using a Kawasaki 750 and have already drilled and tapped.

Test fit with Cold Fusion motor mounts. Marked holes with white paint pen.

No Harbor Freight tap for this operation. This is the one I bought to relocate motor mount holes on an SXR 1100 build.

I've never gotten around to buying a drill press because I already have enough junk I have to store and move around and so I've always settled for crooked holes. Not anymore!
This little guy falls into the "where have you been all my life" category. It's the best $25 I've spent in a long time. Amazon and eBay has them.IMG_2584.JPGIMG_2585.JPGIMG_2587.JPG

Alex, I definitely will AFTER I get it water tested. I already removed the choke plates and added a primer, so I didn't want to change anything else until I got it running again. I made the mistake on my SXR 1100 build to change everything all at once and then wasted a ton of time trying to figure out what change was causing me problems! I've seen your work though and will be in touch.

Rockered nose definitely too cramped for the stock SJ waterbox so I got an H2O Designs waterbox thanks to FAST ELEMENTS. Held down with 2 SJ battery straps on top of the stock rubber pad. I cut a bunch of holes in the rubber pad with a hole saw to lighten it up.photo.JPG

With stock SJ tank located to clear the hood there's not room so a stock size battery tray.IMG_2579.JPG
So tank is up for sale. Since I needed internal fill anyway went and ordered an aluminum tank/battery box from Limited Slip. Can't wait!
