McMaster Carr order placed. It's painfully evident that "Home Improvement" stores are not hardware stores anymore. I also picked up some replacement ODI lock on bolts because I'm drilling them out every time I need to change my grips!

Metric counter sunk bolts use a 90 degree taper. Common countersink bits are 83 degrees though. However, for bolts this size and in glass or aluminum, you can pick up a 90 degree router bit at Home Depot or such for like $6-10 maybe and get a proper taper and fit. Just pry the little ball bearing off the tip.

Today I addressed the monster front "foothold" so I could actually use it as a foothold.
Thanks to Steff for getting the peeling started so I could reuse the original turf and to my Hydroturf connection aka @Bigfish for the 9 & 26 mil padding and diamond turf (which will be used later on the rear footholds mtf).
Original turf peeled up...

9 mm in the front and 35 mm + 9 mm (44 total) of padding on the roof of the foot-cave, turf glued back down and, voila! Not bad for a turf-newbie! Adjustable footholds next...muh haha!

Cut off the heel hooks, stripped down to glass, and glued 26mil padding under the footholds and 9 mil on top to protect me! Wrapped the whole thing with molded diamond HT. Test ride tomorrow...

Trimmed the padding off of a blowsion chin pad, reinforced it with carbon, and turfed it.
Cut up an old stainless bracket from a couch and turned it into a face pad mounting bracket. Time to mount the face pad...photo 3.JPGphoto 2.JPGphoto 1.JPG
