Might be a shot in the dark but 180 psi sounds a little on the light side for pump gas safe with an enhancer.

I know someone on here was saying the same thing. They got a group K 849 big bore kit and thought it should have more power. They sent to motor to art the next year for him to look it over. He ported it his was and I think rised the compression and sent it back. The person said it had way more power then before. I would give Art a call and see what he can do for you.I'm running an 849bb(groupk) in my 92 sx with porting, novi 48s, timing advance, groupk mod head and an unidentified coffmans system with stock electric and stock pump(solas 14-17 and blowsion cone) and I'm kinda disappointed. I do think it's because I'm not getting the power to the water like we're talking about. So I was thinking about getting a mag pump and TL next to see if that compliments my build and gives me what I'm looking for.. Then I found this thread. I'm also getting an ada girldled head and a new pipe.. Thinking about factory limited.. Any thoughts on my situation??

What pitch hooker prop did you end up going with. Did Art tell you to run that prop?I have a BB from Art with B pipe, MSD Enhancer, stock flywhel, ADA head, 44mm OEM carbs & hooker prop. Everybody who rides it is very impressed at the amount of pull it has. I couldn't be happier with it myself. If I remember right the entire package out the door was $1900 for top end, prop and ADA head.
So was the cylinder ported with Total Loss in mind?
If that's the case, then you're losing some bottom end from NOT running the ignition that the motor was built for.
It isn't on the light side. I used to run about 175psi on my Big Bore on pumpgas, and that was the safe max.

I think he might be gone for a few days I havent been able to get ahold of him the last few days. Try giving him a call next week or something.Who's art and whats his number??
Sounds to me like you've over looked something somewhere... have you played with the low speed screws? Checked that you are getting full throttle at both carbs? ( Not bashing but i have seen clear as day problems like this cause people to blame the motor) What did you tell Art when you sent it to him to have the motor built?
