Custom/Hybrid Gen2 BOB build... Finally...

Was said to be an 85lb set up..
Specified flat water freestyle set up...
I can throw a screen shot on here if need be of the emails regarding the weights..
Its not even the extra weight that im so like, not really sure the correct word to use.

117 is pretty heavy... Especially when spending 4000$ on a LightWeight Freestyle hull, And to some people on here, it would not be a big deal, its a "cheap" hull etc but being 19, that was a LOT of money to lay out for a LIGHTWEIGHT hull... That ended up being 40lbs heavier then expected.. Kinda a shocker to me, and I feel like I am not the only one shocked!

Anyways, I will give them the benefit of the doubt, and give a call tomorrow and see what happened and where. Derrick has been awesome this entire time with the ordering process, and one of the best to deal with. So we will see what happens tomorrow....

I can't believe this. Definitely give him a call. From past reviews, he might send you his freestyle hull to break even lol

LOL.. Right...
I guess we will see what happens.

Derrick is a great guy, so really this could be a total honest mistake, I mean he cant be everywhere at once, so maybe someone made a mistake somewhere. In a huge shop, miscommunication is a part of Human nature, im sure he will take care of me. He is awesome.
I will update you all as to what happens tomorrow. Im looking forward to talking with him to see what went wrong where..

Im sure we will pinpoint the issues and what went wrong and where! Not too worried, the ski clinic has a great rep!

It is more the fact that in deciding on a hull to get, weight played a large part in my decision between going Rickter vs BOB... etc..
And come to find out how much this BOB weighed today really hit as a disappointment, and a shocker, Just ask Mark about my reactions.. LOL..

Sorry to hear that, I thought the glass hulls were suppose to weigh 80-85 lbs plus a 10lbs hood. But ether way 117lbs seems crazy

If it's a standard hull, 116lbs cannot be right, our surf hulls are barely that. Something must of happened, we'll give you a call ASAP..

DK- Take a look at the photos... I am just as shocked as you are at that weight... Big difference between 116.5 and 85..
The scale was perfectly "0"d out
and after the hull tipped the scale at the 116.5, I even got myself on the thing to weight myself(just had a doc appt, so i knew my EXACT weight), and the scale told me the same weight the doc did 2 days before (with in 1.0 pounds, so the scale was dead on)...

But really, as was said above, I am sure there was an honest mistake, you guys are some busy people over there, and we are all human, mistakes can happen, miscommunications between people is normal life...

I will talk to Big D as soon as possible about this, and see what went wrong and where,
D has been AMAZING thus far taking care of me in a variety of ways, and has went out of his way to make sure I got what I needed on time and what not, So there must be something honest that happened here, And I am 110% confident that he will do right on this. They have been some of the best people I have delt with.

Anyways, For now, lets put this weight issue to rest, I would like to speak with D first, because in NO way do I want to come across as negative regarding The Ski Clinic, Because they have given me NO reason to think anything other then an honest mistake happened..Very confident in the ski clinic and their buisiness.

Quit saying the dude needs to ride the damn ski first if its 30 some-odd pounds over weight to start with. The freakin thing isn't gonna lighten itsself after the first ride.

You're not helping. The OP spent +$4k on something that didn't live up to his expectations. Stop telling him to get over it like it's no big deal that he didn't get what he wanted.
Even D already came in here and said something is not right (and I have no doubt that the SkiClinic silk make it right.)

What was your hull weight? And rtr weight?

No question on how this thing will go together or ride it's just 40 (36.5) extra pounds up over you when he is in the air. That's 50% more weigh in bare hull than he thought he would have. My pig of a Rickter FR2 weighs that much. Ski Clinic seems like stand up guys and I'll let Chris deal with them on that. I'm still building it. Few little tricks I will do should make this thing a sick ride. Too bad Chris won't let me fixed steer it!
