Not that I have a dog in this fight but............
Wasn't a bob gen1 just a splash of 300sx hull but with yami pump and drive line?
and I agree with Rad dude, facts are facts and bs parts and service suck

Not even close. We took a 300sx as the skeleton, completely reshaped the bottom and top deck. The only thing the 300 and the BOB had in common was the length. Gen1 was much wider, and the bottom deck was completely different.

BOB hulls are definitely a "budget" aftermarket freestyle hull and it's great that they come with all the add ons but it should be listed that way on their site and describe the difference between their hull weight and shipped weight. I've seen BOBs in person and the fit/finish was pretty good in my eyes but I also wasn't looking at the hull like it was my $4000 dollars spent so I didn't nit pick. I think the water lines are kindof a big deal considering the OD is smaller than the advertised ID since most aftermarket hulls run big bore motors and billet cylinders that require extra cooling. I'm not a BOB hater in any way but I appreciate Marks honesty since he is just stating facts and pointing out issues even if it does come across as being negative. No, it's not his $4000 and maybe some of you think he shouldn't voice his opinion of wether he's happy with it since it's Chris' ski but Mark is the one building it and he is more qualified than Chris to compare the pros and cons of the BOB hull compared to other AM and OEM hulls. A lot of AM hull comparisons are the BOB and a Rickter or Superfreak but the BOB hull is almost half the price but more complete and that needs to be taken into consideration with the fit/finish. I know everyone has spoken their opinion and it's turned into a pi$$ing match of knowledge but I'm trying to give a fair reply to everyones input since I just read the whole thread from the beginning. Chris is happy with his hull and with Mark as the builder so the rest is just a pissing match of who is the smartest.
Chris if you don't want this thread to derail too badly then post pics with updates of the build asap!

As mentioned before, we make the hulls to each clients requirements. If they need more water lines, we can do it. If they need larger water lines, we can do it. We've built hulls with 2 3/8 lines and 2 1/2 lines, or even 3 3/8 lines.
Also, the cooling lines on the hull ARE a 3/8 cooling hose. Our 3/8 hoses fit perfectly snug over the cooling lines, and we've never had and problems or complaints about water lines not fitting properly, so I'm not exactly sure what he's got going on, but tech support is available 9-6 PST. All anyone has to do is call or email.

I wasn't bashing you guys but thanks for clarifying. I do think you guys have a great product and I'd consider buying a BOB myself still. I wasn't the one holding the digital calipers but those weren't 3/8 ID measurements, that's all I'm saying. He fact that you custom tailor the hull layup and cooling hose requirements are a good thing. I don't think perfection is expected at $4000 especially when you offer a more complete hull for half the cost but certin things should be verified (cooling line diameter) or advertised (difference between bre hull weight and shipping weight). I understand you will defend your product and I would expect you to do so but please understand that I'm not bashing it either. I am actually pointing things out to help the consumer be aware of what they are getting as well as letting you know what they expect. It's just a discussion...

I totally understand, I'm not reading it like its a bash, just trying to clarify a few things.
Our website shows the weight of the hulls.. some people assume that its with the hood and all the add-ons, but yes, I do need to change that. As for the waterlines, I'm not sure what he's got going on. We've been using the same tubing since day 1 and like I said before... over 100 hulls... 0 complaints. Maybe he's using a different waterline? Who knows. Like I said, customer service and tech support is available during the day, adn we do what we can to help. You cant make everyone happy, all we can do is try.

why do you keep making it seem like I am doing somthing different? I put a mic on the lines to show the true size of them. The fact is you guys are using some small line! I'm not sure why, and it blows me away that I'm the first person to question these smaller that 3/8s line. The question is why? It's not like you save any money running this over 3/8s ID line. Any motor builder is going to tell you that's small line right there.

So you sold 100 hulls that doesn't make it right. Look at how many wavejammers were sold it doesn't make them a nice ski.

The lines are small, smaller than a stock super jet, smaller than any ski I have ever worked on and that's why I question it.

i sold mine but dont get me wrong i liked the ski. we ride surf (and im fat and old) and the bob was a workout to stay on. i rode a gen 2 and like that one more. we have bulit a bunch of bobs over the past few years. ran an 865 with thoses 3/8s lines no issues. you have to realize you are not going to b running any motor in that hull wot very long.
i may order another gen 2 for myself soon. im getting the itch.

Wire job I did for this ski.

what kind of wire cover do you use ?? i found some on ebay, but they are not the same quality as JSS
It's not easy stuff to use but done right and Witt the right tools it's the best.
You want 3/8s it will do everything on a ski from 2 wires to 10.
You want 3:1 dual wall heat shrink too. Adhesive flows out when you uses it.
