Freestyle Getting the most out of your JetManiac motor

These seem to be popular, so if you have anything to add please feel free to add it. Im curoius to see how everyone elses motors are set up

Im running a JetManiac/Blue ported 718, stock carbs, stock intake, Vforce 2s, b pipe, stock electrics, ADA head, pump gas domes and #zero lw flywheel. billet couplers

Things I got the most out of:

1 adding the v force reeds, way better throttle response.

2 Leaning out the low and high speed screws. They were set when I got the motor, but after seeing black plugs a few times I got brave. Im now just under a half turn on the lows and 1 full turn out on the highs. this seems to work well for me.

My to do list:
I still need to bore my manifold and head pipe. I was in a bit of a rush to get on the water this year. I half a$$ed it with a carbide bit in a die grinder.

Epic or total loss for next season

Bigger aftermarket carbs and intake

larger, and setback mag pump if impros ever returns a phone call

Titanium driveshaft

200+ psi and race gas.

Keep ur carbs and go total loss. Best performance gain u can buy other than a bigger motor.

Your money would be better spent on hundreds of other things before getting a titanium driveshaft. Total loss will get you the biggest performance gain.

I just bought a mill and getting a lathe later this week. I plan on making the driveshaft. Cant get the mag from JetManiac, mine is a kawi based hull. and Impros is buying my 3 stock kawi pumps as cores to lower my cost, and buying back whatever Hookers I have left at the time.

Im running the same motor with 33 domes with pump gas, just no wot runs. Im installing TL and mag pump this week. So Ill be able to tell you how those feel with my jetmaniac motor real soon!!!!

Look forward to hearing how it works out.

Im in a spot where I cant plug in to charge, so Im more leaning towards EPIC for the charging system. Unless I can get a solar panel big enough to keep my battery charged up. Any experience with a solar charger and total loss? It has at least 10 hours a day when Im working to soak up a charge.

That thing will rip hard with those mods. You'll be psyched with that TL hit and the ability of that may to handle the thrust. Nice choice. Performance will match the looks of ur ski...sick!

If it where my motor i would get the tl, mag and big 48/49 carbs. do it all.

I already have a 140 mag, for sure I am stepping up to the 145 setback, and doing TL, 210 psi and race fuel, or maybe 200psi and av gas. I just did some reading on the powerfactor, I dont think I have the displacement to really benefit from that pipe. I will say I love the way it sounds on an octane.

Never heard an engine builder recommend 48-49mm carbs for a sub 800 freestyle engine. Heck I was even told that 46's would suck for a 785 big bore motor. Same goes for the powerfactor pipe. Not all big engine mods work on smaller engines. Heck Malone runs the 145 mag in his pro level hulls with massive engines. I can't see the 145 offering anything over the 140 for a ported 701.

Maybe I'm the one over thinking this but it seems crazy to spend $1500 on a 145 mag when you have a 140, then spend $1500 on a power factor pipe, then another $1000 on bigger carbs, and $1300 on total loss for............a 718cc engine. Go for TL and if you have money left over, put it in a fund for a bigger engine next year.

i had one of the first blue/maniac motors and i would agree the total loss is going to be your best for the money, also if you have a b pipe sell it and get a speedwerx freestyle dry pipe and an aftermarket waterbox(i had a tdr), i could get my sj hull almost a foot higher out of the water after the exhaust and it was spinning off the bottom, you have to do the waterbox otherwise the pipe doesn't hit right, i tried with a stock waterbox and was like night and day..
