Custom/Hybrid Havoc build

Had this Hull over a year now , finally time to start assembly.

History is this is an early version of the havoc , I think owned by flyinryan , then his friend , now me.

It’s been professionally repaired on bottom of the hull and repainted by a composites company prior to me purchasing.

I bolted up the pole mount and comp- length xscream pole but it looks a bit off center. Not sure if the bushings are doing this or I need to ream out the pole mount bolt holes to shift it?

I plugged the scupper on the inside and plan to run a bilge pump. ( wing-nut plug do not permanent)
There is no foam and it has the thrust mini drains. Thoughts on foaming before I turf?? It’s a short hull so I’m not sure if would even matter.

Waiting on jetmaniacs ported 718 w/ 38’s. Ill be running a b- pipe , lighted flywheel and enhancer. My thoughts are to keep it simple now and see how it goes. Any tips /comments please post em up

Looks great! I have a blue RCW havoc with a 781, PFP pipe and 144 mag. Absolutely love it! I'm upgrading to a PHP 1015, but my current setup is probably close to how yours will feel. It's awesome! LMK if you need pictures of anything or what not and good luck with the build!

Looking good. I have a Yellow RCW Havoc with a Dasa 850ss and 155 maxx pump. Awesome flat water flipper!

If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to ditch the dual 38s and go with a single 46 on a WetJet intake. And don't try to go dual 44s please

What B-Pipe do you have? The mod pipe fits better in the hull, but the limited pipe hits better off the bottom. It depends on what waterbox you are using. A JM SJ waterbox will work with both style b-pipes, but a stock waterbox may only work for the mod pipe.

Hood vents. You need more than what I see. Mine has 4x hood vents and looks like yours only has 2. Maybe the 717 engine will be OK, but Philip Clemmons personally commented -positively- on mine about having the extra vents. He helped Havoc update their hood design I believe.

Can you post a picture of your hood? I'm swapping in a PHP 1015 within a week or two and my hood looks just like motoman's. I believe the previous owner of this engine had issues with not enough hood vent (on a different hull) which was diagnosed by Phil actually.

Nevermind. Apparently I need to pay more attention to my ski and bring it out of hibernation. Only 2 vents so I stand corrected. Here’s a picture for good measure.

I have a new pump seal but unsure if I want to chisel the old off. The 5200 looks super- cured that’s it stuck on with !

Need to grind the intake just a touch on the sides

looking good! perfect timing for me haha.... spent a few hours working on my 144 -> 155 swap today. Is that a 155 shoe in yours? How smooth is the transition from the hull to the shoe on the inside? I sanded the tunnel out a good bit top try to make a smooth transition to the new shoe, but the tunnel is probably 1/8-1/16" smaller then the shoe opening at the bottom.

also, i have the same intake grate. mine is ground pretty heavily at the same spot you are getting ready to grind. LMK if you want pics.

Those 2 lips on the seal usually go towards the shoe.., flat side towards the pump like this..

The pump seal is indeed installed backwards. They likely added the 5200 and flipped it to make up for a gap and still use the lip seal.
You can avoid the gap by properly shimming and aligning your pump shoe when glued in.
@motoman3000 if it seals, may as well leave it be but if you want to redo it you can.

@Jcary85 if you haven't glued yours in yet, Post 75-80 in my last build thread shows a bit on how to do this.

Haha thanks! i actually just stumbled upon your thread like an hour ago lol. I just glued mine yesterday with 5200. I'm not entirely happy with the amount i had to use to fill the huge empty pocket at the thin part of the pump shoe (same shoe you used Nick). Ended up slightly more lumpy than I hoped. Smoothed it over the best i could. I'll probably roll with it for now though.

My apologies to @Harbor then, it looked correct. No way I’m chiseling out a pump shoe now. I’ll run it and see how it goes.

Only needed 2-3 mil of shims and a forceful pull to the port side to get it straight
