I have been whearing a wakeboard helmet in the surf for the last few years and was looking to go to a full face style. I tried my snow-x helmet and it is just to heavy when wet. I was looking at the halmets on Blowsion and they look like a bell bmx helmet that I could get localy before we leave for Daytona this week. Give me some feed back on this.

I have a cheap Bell, I like it for the price. Not to heavy wet, warm in cold weather compared to wakeboard helmet. Don't think it will last long.

Bell bellistic. Cheap and works great. Blowsion sells the same helmet for more.

i agree. a large majority of us wear the Bell bellistic. do an online search and find a last years model for 1/2 the price of the ones in your local bike shop. you can also go down to toys r us and get a similar one in the kids bicycle department but they dont have many sizes to choose from.
if you do end up ordering one online make sure you go down to the store and find out exactly what size you will need to order first.

I would wear it in the surf but feel like an even bigger idiot wearing it on my lake. I already get weird looks wearing my bellistic. I'll just be real careful in Daytona. No flips for me this year.

Imagine how much of an idiot you'll feel like when you tell the nurse how your broken nose could have been avoided.

I love my bird cage even on lakes.
Ever take a branch to the face ?

I did't break my nose in the surf. once on flat water and once on a boat wake. wearing a Bellistic (bmx) style helmet each time.

I know it is prob not the greatest but I picked up a bell full face helmet from wal-mart for $40. I will get a better one eventually but this one seems ok for now.

$200 for a helmet  Tim, I may need to try yours this weekend. I just replaced my Bell after two years with another Bell. I haven't broken my nose with one on yet but it wouldn't surprise me. Done it with a Protec and with nothing on :banghead:

They also offer a whitewater rafting helmet that has a cage and closed cell padding for $80.
