Help recommend me a hull

Did I miss what do you ride now? I would say there aren't many skis that are great all around like that, superfreak badass but I'm biased...I don't think many (any) aftermarket hulls can flip easily, solid in surf and carve as well...it might be kinda like the old saying, want cheap, fast or strong...pick two

I haven't ridden every hull, but I like the phantom best for chasing wakes and freestyle. Would really like to try one in the surf.

Also really like the old school Krash JB1 ski for all around fun. Not sure it would flip without big power though.

I think I have limited down my search list down to a Xfr, Bam, a tigercraft v3 or v2, inverse hull (if i can get some reviews on the hull), and air blair. Thanks guys! just need to price these hulls out. weight, and if i can fit a 155 pump in these hulls.

190 pound. 6'0 on a good day.

I own a square. A round. A blaster. A raider. A rickter evo. Rickter xfr.

Selling all of it this yr besides both rickter. I'd sell the evo but surf gets really big sometimes where I ride and and xfr just doesn't do well above 5 ft. I never plan on buying another ski ever again. The xfr does everything.

People will say all sorts of stuff. The fact is you could barrel roll a 2x4 if you rode it enough. What you should be looking for is something you can grow into. Something that will hold value. Something that won't break and is easily repaired if it does.

The xfr is short with a large tray. Very free style friendly. The xfr has a large engine bay. Very nice gor working on the ski. The xfr has one of the most proven layups in the industry. Please someone show me a broken rickter.

I can outride superjets all day long on the lake with my xfr. I ride with them regularly. They cannot keep up in any way at all. Be it distance. Buoys. Shredding. Tricks. Or rocker on waves. They don't do anything as well.

That colorful chart is dumb as hell imo. Some of those skis are worse than a superjet.

I would love to own a rickter but I believe the price point is a little high for me since im in college. (new) The xfr would be perfect. Im considering the other skis since they are cheaper unless i come across a deal on one used.

to make an educated decision, you really need to go to a freeride and ride a bunch of skis to really determine what suits you, otherwise your just guessing. Hull reviews are virtually worthless. I have been on the same hulls, just set up different and they all have their own attitude as far as handling. Different nozzles, different pumps, different motors, ride plate length, pole length, etc all plays a huge factor in how a particular ski will handle. I am not sure how my new bottom is going to be, although i think it will handle more like what i want, it may not be what another person will want. All inverse hulls are setup for 144 pumps. The intent was these hulls are for the good ol' basic yami power plant. Although you could drop a 1200 in an inverse; i just dont see the point. I am also of the opinion that a 155 pump is a waste of time and money for yami based powerplants. 155s are good only for 1000cc+ imo, i know others will say different, thats just been my experience.

Come spring time, id be more than happy to let you rip the new/old inverse hull...

I was wondering if I could get some insight on what hull would fit my needs. I plan to shred the lake 95% of the time. The other 5% would be in surf like conditions. I want something that I could flip off a boat wake and carve if I wanted to. Preferably light and strong, under 100 pounds?? Was looking at tiger crafts but the models get confusing. Any info would help thanks!
My $0.02

The Superfreak Badass -4.3 Hull fits the bill here. Lighter carbon will be a little more slidy but can still carve a little bit with the right lean angle and body position. I'll be posting mine up for sale (have a -6 as well that I'm keeping) soon.

Here is my -4.3 Carbon. The -6 is in the background

Also consider some of the Glass Versions (Titan) built by Thrust. With the little extra weight from being fiberglass they ride a little deeper in the water and in turn handle better. I see that you're in Ohio. @valman is in West Virginia and is looking to sell his. (see below).

I agree with Madmat, I have a Waterdawg Envy. Does everything just fine shreds and great on long lake cruises. 268lbs and flips and rolls just fine. I have a build thread on it from years ago some in here. I wish I could get another for the wife. She loves it compared to her SXR that has been extremely lightened.
