Help recommend me a hull

I was wondering if I could get some insight on what hull would fit my needs. I plan to shred the lake 95% of the time. The other 5% would be in surf like conditions. I want something that I could flip off a boat wake and carve if I wanted to. Preferably light and strong, under 100 pounds?? Was looking at tiger crafts but the models get confusing. Any info would help thanks!

Nobody will pay for a hull that wont backflip so almost all A/M hulls now are very short. You may be able to ride one like it was a Superjet if you are very small. I see many riders prop up the pole on their short boats and ride them like a fixed steer whenever they are chasing a wave. Don't get sucked into the hype, you may need a full length Superjet.

If you're gonna shred the lake 95% of the time buy a boat for that. It'll work well enough in the surf for the 5% of the time. You know what they say about Elcaminos, it's a chitty car AND a chitty truck. Yeah you can ride anything anywhere anytime but is it fun? I could ride a BMX bike on a 30 mile cross country, why, when there's a bike built for it. And the backflip thing, that 95% ski will need a boat wake from a super tanker to flip IMHO. If I had to pick a hull for your spec though, it'd be Superfreak or a T1.

Superfreaks slide, not carve!

T1
XFR
M1 (?)

Edge will carve better and be better in surf. Tigercraft SV's are good but really heavy feeling. But carve really good

Yeah I get it about Freaks sliding , but I figured a little less face spray( lake use). I’ve not ridden the M1, but I have ridden 3 different versions of SV’s and Aquabots, and they are face sprayers. Maybe someone can chime in about the M1. My Rickter would be a face sprayer without the splash guard, can’t comment on the Edge. I guess an off the shelf out of the box SJ or FX is pretty hard to beat...

What about a aqua bot v2 or the new v3? Any info on the inverse hull? Would that fit my application? Plan to have a big motor and a 155 pump in the ski. So hopefully something that I can fit a 155 shoe.

Did you ride a v2 or the new v3? If so what were the characteristics of the hull?

I've ridden the V1 and owned a V2 Aquabot. I can't comment on the V3, but I believe it has some M1 DNA in it. I've also ridden ( ridden meaning more than a couple of tanks) the original SV1 , SV1+3"(?, interim boat, not quit a SVPro yet), and SV-PRO. All of them are outstanding surf boats that are excellent carvers. The SV1, more fun smaller surf, with the SVPRO better in bigger surf. They're actually fun just carving around by the truck. But when you straighten them out , boat chasing for example, they throw up a vertical wall of water you ride into. I don't know how old you are, but I am way past that lol. I've also ridden the Predators ( Krash) , same thing as the Tigers, though the notched, stepped bow helps a little with the face spray. All of them excellent surf boats, where face spray's not an issue. That Inverse hull looks very interesting, maybe someone can give a ride report on that.

Maybe a v3 is up my alley. The face spray is a detouring factor for sure. Did you like the v2?

Yeah I liked the V2 Bot. Short and it carved, like it was stuck to the water. Wasn't what I was after at the time (flat water flip). But that face spray would wake ya up. I would guess spray is going to be an issue with any rockered boat, if anyone knows of exceptions , please, chime in.

Looking at that inverse hull you showed me. Maybe a tiger craft. Think an xfr is out of my price range. Plus USA built is a plus.
I was just showing my waterdawg envy. I am not even sure if you can still get one. But basically just a light sxr top on a light SJ bottom. Even after all these years of ripping it I still feel a light SJ with a little off the back is as good as gets for Lake Erie waves AND chasing boats. I still feel 105lbs is a magic number for a hull weight!

The v2 has deeper Chines and hooks better when carving than the v3. The v3 has built in tubbies and a sharp bond rail as well as a longer tray. I have 2 friends that have v3s and they both ride great, but different. One has a 144 mag pump the other has a oem 155 both 701s. The v3 will slide until it hits the bond rail then will grab. I like the v3 better than the v2 mainly cause of the longer tray. Both flip off of a boat wake with ease.

Do you know roughly how much the hulls cost? Can I get a full carbon lay up? Wish tiger craft had a website I can get a quote off of or inquiry about.

I got to head up to Lake Erie and ride with the Cleveland gang. Maybe when I get a better hull. About a 3-4 hour drive from Dayton. Surf like conditions on windy days
