Hey 'Saki... wanna go for a lame trail ride?

the bitch of it is, i'm kinda proud of the fact that i can tear down a 4 stroke engine, split the cases even, rebuild my motor from the ground up, get it all back together.... then i go and do something like this...

:trink26: :banghead: :jester:

After you stop laughin....you then laugh some more...but then in a strange way....you're not really surprised...and you may start seeing parts of a puzzle.

trust me i thought about it... seriously... lol

but my solution and $7000 were two totally different zip codes.

when the 09's come out and the 08's drop $$$ ... i'm all over a new ride..

Looks so easy front the tiki hut....I'm be sporting my new Narita tomorrow...

you can hear the diff between the 250f's tapped out in 4th and the 450's cruising in 4th..

ever watch josh/jeff hit the triple (father/son yamaha yz450 #53 combo)? josh hits it in 3rd way up in the rpms and dad hits it in 4th chilling... jeff (dad) trips me out.. he rides so smooth..

chit, we have all done that kind of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heck one time back in the early years of my jet ski obsession... I had a rag stuffed in my intake manifold to keep out crud. Then I slapped a head on the engine and I wanted to see what the compression was. A quick cranking of the starter made the rag disappear unknown to me. Months later after winter was over and I was ready to hit the water, the ski ran like crap. Trying to find the problem I began swapping out parts left and right. I found the cause when I checked the reeds. The rag was half wedged into the reed cage keeping the reeds on that cylinder open all the time. It had been like that for a month or two while I was building the ski up. Just because the ski ran great out of the water didn't mean it would run great in the water!

Edwin, keep the old 450, rebuild it is salvageable and put it in a dune buggy or go kart!

Dune buggy with AWD , one 450 for the front wheels, one 450 for the rear wheels!

Man I need to win the lotto!

Here is my old bike. 98 YZ250 brapper that I sold in 2002 I believe. Man I miss that bike. Before Yamaha pulls the plug like Honda, Suzuki, and Kawasakii will buy one of the last years two smokers!

Nah no goggles that day. It was a rinky dink beginners track that the guy in the back ground owned. I fell over and broke my clutch lever two seconds of getting on my bike that day. I wasn't ready for a muddy spot off of the track. Only 3 of us riding it that day, I think I tossed the goggles after they got muddy or I forgot them. It wasn't dusty and I was only hitting the track at that time for the pictures. It was at the end of the day and we had been making laps all day.

Funny you mention the cornering skills. My best friend wasa soild B should have been an A rider. His other racing friend grew up two minutes away from Mt. Morris, PA aka High Point National. Well that guy was a solid A rider and usually qualified for High Point each year. Well I wish I had pics of him cornering because he couldn't hit a corner to save his soul. My best friend was like look at you cornering like a pro and him struggling. Mind you I raced maybe 5 D class or beginners classes ever. I usually trail rode. I loved hil climbs. The harder the better. On a quad hills suck if you can't make it. On a bike, just go for it. You would like a good steep, long nasty hill climb. Gets the blood pressure going like a nice double.

I still like that pic of you cornering that sand berm with both feet on the pegs. That is a good pic!

That is why woods riding is great, you dont have to be like the rest of the sheep and buy a new bike every year......

That is so true. In techincal the terrain the rider is more of a factor thN on groomed surfaces.

I like trails that keep my attention like this. You have to earn every inch of it you make it up or down.

YouTube - pathfinders

Now do this for 70 or 100 miles.

Saki, that DR 650 you had back in the day wasn't really a dirt bike, That was a gold wing with knobbies. I just didn't have the heart to tell you back then.............

BTW I just got my Leat Brace this week. I like it a lot. Have you had yours long?
