SO I've hitch hauled my super freak using my Nissan Frontier in both the BACK and the FRONT. Honestly, I don't really like doing it much. In the back, it seems to sag a bit and I can really feel it back there - not like pulling a trailer at all. It makes me nervous a bit hauling the ski like that in the back. On top of that I've pulled a trailer behind the hitch as well which is even a bit worse.

But then in the FRONT is a different story all-together. I guess the frontier has a pretty beefed up front suspension because I can't feel the ski at all up there - though I'm nervous someone is going to swerve into my ski and cause a fiberglass explosion on impact.

Go figure.

Look at a Subaru Baja. Its got a small 3.5' bed and its a car with awd. You might fit a ski diagonally alright. The newer ones had option for the WRX turbo engine. Its an all-season tank thats low to the ground, small like a Subaru impreza (Honda Civic/Accord), which also seats 5... if you can get past its ugly.

I had a subaru baja and loved it my stand up fitted easily and the little truck still got 25 mpgs. Hard to find and expensive nowadays. B

@Zero Client looks like a Ford Ranchero

Geez Aussies! We get stuck with crap over here. You guys at so lucky! The US hasn't had a vehicle like that in years!
Don't worry it's dead now....
You're financial crisis caused all the manufacturers to focus on the domestic market. That along with some other issues killed our local car industry. So now all we get are rebaged chevys and fords.

Shame as we had some great cars.
The sedan version of the commodore ute was your Pontiac G8. And I think last generation SS.

The ford falcon was similar. The turbo straight 6 was pretty good.

these now take up the position of the ute.
(Pictures are of the race versions because it's more amusing)
