so when i got my hull the fuel filler hole was filled..wish it wasnt cause i really dont like having an internal fill...ive been running a tank with the cap/filler neck right on top of the tank..i have two..one is on a really NASTY roached out tank and the other is on a newer tank but it leaks...
i also have this home made internal fill like the one blowsion sells but its a POS too..so basically what setup besides cutting a hole in the tank and sealing the filler neck in do you guys run???...

My Wamilton's ski came with this easy to replicate set-up. Simple stainless steel plate with two pickups for the dual carbs. The stock filler piece is simply epoxied in the stock pick hole. Compliments of Pat Bogart when he helped assemble the ski for the person I bought it from. I'm running this set-up in my WCF ski, now.

Its hard to tell are those SS tubes just slip fit through holes in the plate or are they actually welded to the plate?

I had a problem ONCE because one of the screws backed out a little. I resealed the gasket with some silicone and snugged the screws up and haven't had any problems since. I've run this set-up on two different skis for close to four years now. :fing02:

It's hard to tell from the pic, but there are two screws that hold the plate down. The other one is hidden by the tubes.

Don't use silicone .Gas eats it away and it can get in your fuel/carbs and screw shiat up .Ask slutty .

The nicest way is to get an internal filler .it costs the most but no cutting of the tank .

What's wrong with running the stock fuel filler neck and gasket on a hole cut in the tank? I'm about to do this, but now you've got me questioning it.

like i said one of the ones i have does not leak but the other has been leaking..it was fine here in Ca but when i took my ski to florida and Puerto Rico it started leaking...i think it was the humidity and heat :dead1:

i dont want to take chance anymore

did you use 5200 on the one i got from you a while back??

I did two of them like that and 1 leaked only under pressure and the other did not .I would use epoxy if I did it again .

one thing a lot of guys don't consider is that by having an internal fill you increase your chances of having a fire inside your boat .

If it leaks and you have a backfire ...BOOM

I am going to run a go kart tank this season... 8.5 liters... internal fuel fill included for $40. Great little tank unless you have to be out on the lake/ocean for more than 30-45 minutes at a time... I think the place online was "comet go kart sales".
