That's the right answer for HERE. Assuming that these are going to Russia, what if there is no provision for bringing in a pwc without a HIN? I don't think you understand international boat registrations. The US is about the only country where you can register a boat to a state. Virtually everywhere else requires you to register a boat to the country itself. I would venture to say that the only reasonable way to get a homemade boat registered overseas is if it was registered with the USCG first. That can only happen when the displacement is 6 tons or greater, so there really isn't a way to do it on a jet ski.

I challenge you to show up somewhere in Europe with a boat or pwc with no HIN and a piece of registration paperwork from a STATE within the United States. Sucks for you when they confiscate your ski and you never see it again. Life is much easier if you were to show up with a real VIN that can be checked for lien and stolen status.

Quit jumping on this like he's making heroine and selling it to little kids. You have no knowledge of why he does it the way he does. Call the guy. He's pretty nice and I'm sure he'd explain it to you. He may not be doing it "the easy way". He may be doing it the ONLY way.

"He" is actually not the Manufacturer. The Manufacturer should be providing the proper VIN's anyways. He, is trying satisfy whomever needs a VIN.

I am currently waiting to here back from my state about an A/M GP Carbon Hull that I recently got. sitting next to my GP800 the ski looks the same other then a few items but you can clearly see the hull is different and its duh made of carbon fiber. The ski did not have a tittle because it came from a no tittle state but it does have some interesting HIN

thats because at the time bullet was considered a mfr in the united and therefore could offer HIN plates

One of the locals here used to have an all carbon Raider......woudl that have been the same manufacturer?

or woudl his have been an R-pot hull????

I never got to ride it...but it had a full BB group K like 1300+ cc kit in it..

the bullit99 tag is likely not a HIN registered by bullit marine. It probably was the same tag they put on all GP hulls of that style or year. I've only known one aftermarket hull builder that had the legal ability to affix original HIN's to their boats and provide MSO's. That was Odyssey Racing in Ontario canada.
When I started building hulls in 99 I formally inquired with my state about doing this. Unfortunately Michigan is the home of GM/Ford/Chrysler, so they won't consider you an OEM mfg. unless you produce a HUGE volume of vehicles. Instead I am allowed to register complete skis as "assembled" by showing bills for all materials used to build them. I pay taxes on any purchase, and in return am issued a state assigned VIN ( vehicle identification number) which I must attach to the ski. I have to make my own tag from watever material I see fit.

i am sorry one of my post has led to this . to clarify more what is done in this situation . the customer purchases a stock ski new and a am hull to be built into a full blown boat . like said going to russia and other countries if you are sending a ski you need a legal vin or hin they dont like our own governemnt really understand or need to understand what are sports are doing to excell . so in order for a european to buy a boat you either remove the engine and you can ship with no hin or you buy a ski use the parts you need and use the hin . this ski does no thave to be purchased in the usa this is an international website and other countries could care less what we are doing here . these skis are menat for someone that has a ragged hull and wants to upgrade there hull and trash there old one or for export to do the same . i am straight forward by telling everyone this and the hin are attached currently which also makes them legal here . by the way guys b-pipes are for competition only as well. sorry to piss people off i am only trying to do good for me and others in the most fair way possible and others will not always agree but as you can see many people have vouched for my business ethics

Don't apologize. Some of us jackasses just get worked up over nothing. That is one of the problems with message boards. You do your thing. I have just had a poor experience with the cops over crap like this. So it rubs me wrong. Thats all. Good luck to you!

good luck getting USCG approval and licensing on a small production a/m jetski.

maybe skinaked is just having a bad day.

so are you saying those guys racing rocket boats have uscg approval? in their scial one off boats? no way. i just can't see it. yet im sure they have some fashion of legal registration

the a/m hull guys' don't mass produce for the general public. im sure there could be a loop hole for them to get proper hin's for the hulls they make. yeah it may jack up the cost a bit to do it right or....... do like matt had to, sell the hull and leave the hin up to the buyer. at least matt is full on legit now and will have NO worries at all. and water dawg didn't have to find a donor hull to pull hin's off of.
