Ski comes home tomorrow hopefully, I’ll be recording and documenting what everything looks like as it’s torn apart.
Very curious to see the condition of the crank bearings after sitting for that long :)
had an X2 that someone brought me umpteen years ago. Fount the motor was full of a gray sludge. Gas and Water. I mean when I pulled the plugs and tried to roll the crank it immediately poured out........ Got flushed out. Pulled intake, crank was clean!!!!!!!!!!!! Got running and sent on its way. Never heard back other than "Still running!" Maybe you will have this kind of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you going to insure it? Add a rope and bouy or stuff it full of as much foam as you can? :)
Next ski will be insured, as of now this one I’ll either have repaired and sell or just sell damaged. Don’t know if my wallet can handle two skis right about now !

I'll never forget Daytona 17, I think his name was jed or Jeb, lost is (ironically) eme 1200 in the surf on Thursday. Washed up Friday morning few miles up the beach. Saw him strip everything down that day to have it all back together and ripping Saturday. The copper terminals on the battery and solenoid were corroded away. Even the msd total loss survived a night under the ocean haha.

I was there for that too, I vaguely remember someone losing their ski lol. That was the year my uncle penciled it into the surf and destroyed his ski too! Good times

I just got caught up on the updates on your story. This is amazing news! Congratulations. They cylinders actually look pretty good. Hopefully the crank bearings will be OK. I'd imagine if this was salt water, the outcome would have been drastically different.
