And here it goes! Lol someone must have filed

Wow, the pessimism on this board for insurance kills me. Perhaps it's warranted but please, don't comment unless you know your facts. Assuming stuff only creates rumors. Here are the facts:

1. This carrier has been allowing my agency to write custom skis for 3 years now (there are other agents who have written them too, but our book has the most on it).
2. The carrier is choosing to close the book to NEW BUSINESS (i.e. new quotes and new policies as of 06/16/2015). They would now like to sit back and see how the existing book of custom skis performs. Carrier do this often (more than you would think or even know). If after a year or two, the book is performing well (i.e. profitable). Then they will open back up to writing customs again. I know that as a consumer this is hard to understand but quite honestly, as an industry professional, this is good and SMART BUSINESS.
3. ALL custom ski owners that have an active or quote delivered to them by our agency prior to 06/15/15 will be honored, renewed and written.

Hope this clears up any speculation occurring.

As a side note, if anyone has taken the time to read about me or my agency then you know that my agency specializes in hard to place, high performance, high profile risks. We will find another carrier to entertain these custom skis while this carrier lets their book ride and be monitored.

Will current policies be renewable? @wakezoneINS

Yes, all existing insurance policies will continue on the books until YOU elect to cancel them or they cancel due to non-pay. Claims will be paid according to policy terms. The carrier knows exactly what they have been putting on the books and should you ever have to file a claim, you should not worry about it.

No more new skis with wake zone (currently). I tried to add a ski to my policy and as of right now, they are not letting Stacy add it. Will keep you guys updated it anything changes.

In the mean time has anyone found any alternatives?

Well to be honest I'm quite pissed now. No I don't know both sides to the story but from what I know one claim that was investigated for fraud is the reason we cannot get anymore coverage (Might not be the only reason).
I had two skis on my policy bought and sold one and now I can't update the policy and only have one ski insured.

Ps my frustration is not with Stacy but with company making the decision. Stacy has fought to fix this issue and I'm sure she will continue to try to make this right.

So someone finally made a claim and the company is fighting paying them... be interesting to hear both sides of that story.

Yep... Sounds like an insurance company to me.

I got rear ended by a drunk driver (he added hit and run to his felony count as well)
Seems like a slam dunk no issue claim right? Nope!
Retained an Attorney for the first time in my life.. He made them wish they would have just met my reasonable demands lol.

Any updates on this, or possible alternatives? I contacted Wakezone and they said they're done with am skis still...

There are alot of insurance companies doing it, but no one will tell you because of the bandwagon effect. Call around (alot) you will find one. Then keep it secret lol

Or they will take your money and lawyer up when you make a claim and not pay out.

Your probably right...some have am hull makes on file - typically only mainstream ones like rickter, hurricane and say they will pay out what the value is of other rickters/ hurrkcanes are at that time..

Take it for what it is it's your ski not mine, at the end of the day 250-300 a year is not huge, and liability is a must IMO so I have nothing to lose

At 300 dollars a year? I don't know any insurance company that will charge that for a 30k ski. That's way too much of a risk. I mean I hope it works out for you but if you're that worried keep your money and buy a retriever. That's the only thing I worry about. If a boat hits me my ski is the last thing I'll be thinking of. This thread keeps getting dig up and we have had only one real agent talk on here. Then after someone on this board basically committed insurance fraud they don't insure skis anymore. Until a real agent comes I here and starts taking policies and explains all the fine print, it's all smoke and mirrors and agents trying to get their sales quota "we can write a policy for that!".
