How to lighten a 61x or 62T flywheel?

Does any one have the specs to lighten a stock flywheel 61X or 62T?

Pictures or anything?

the quickest way is msd total loss. doing the stocker doesnt really do much if anything.

print screen, paste it into irfanview, crop the top corner of screen, open in paint, draw child like scribbled circles, and then attach it.

Taking off .60 lb is still taking off .60lb .
Pat has machines to do it at his shop so it would cost him zero to do it .
I had mine done and it's lighter than stock so it's an improvement.

Why don't you make an aluminum one Pat ??

i was thinking of makiing one as well... but not sure what to do about the magnets. i would want it to be a charging flywheel. has anyone ever removed the magnets from a stocker? what about the ring gear? other than those two issues, it shouldnt be a problem to whip one out on the lathe out of alum...

glyn has a 61x rad wheel kicking around i beleave

start with a 61x it's lighter then the 62t in stock form.

true, a ligthend 61x will be lighter than a lightend 62T, but I think the 62T has less rotational mass (mass closer to the hub).

ive had the 61x flywheels come apart on me. The magnets seem to hold up better on the 62t. I'll sacrifice a little weight for a little reliability

agreed...the 61x magnets breakup in small pieces and spin out at the outer edge...62t magnets set up is constructed better...

there is no real gain by doing the stockers . you have to go to the rrp or a rad to actually feel the difference and with those it is big .
