I found a FX1 for sale

That guy needs a good ole c*ck punch for letting this ski rot

He might not know that. ;)

He does know about the pipe being limited and no longer sold. He said $2200 for the ski without the pipe.

It has aftermarket ignition, some porting, ss prop, ride plate and bilge pump with handlebar switch.
How much would an engine cost? I would like to buy it, but not for what he's asking and I can't find one locally?

Not worth it. Id just let this ski rot even more until you can scoop it for free in 10 years after its left to die. You're going to spend a ton of money for this thing to get running that you might as well pay the 300-400 to ship the stock one in Denver to Michigan.

This guy is either smoking crack or damn good bud to be wanting that kind of money for that POS FX1 even without the pipe...

The owner was in Florida and the ski was supposed to be in a barn. It was stored in the barn for a couple years, no one knows how long, then was sitting outside covered until the cover got shredded from the weather. So not sure exactly...

If any moisture worked its way into the ebox that aftermarket ignition is toast. if any water work its way past the flywheel cover your stator is toast, bendix is probably toast and starter is most likely gone as well being under water this whole time.

Not sure I should buy a ski in Colorado without seeing it, as it could have been under water for 5 years too?

Underwater inside? Highly unlikely...

The one in Denver is clean and I bet there are people who live out there on this forum, I.E. Wet Dreams, who could go look at this ski for you if you're serious, if you pay them for the time

But, if your all about the underwater FX1, go for it. Good luck with all the problems and over paying.
