GUYS I GOT 2 STANDUPS!!!! YAY!!!!!! They both run perfect BUT in the 750sxi the housing was taken off and the prop is frozen in it. The guy said the saltwater got behind the bearing and it expanded and got frozen.
!!!!!!

Waveracer, How do you know if your 750 sxi runs perfect if the prop is frozen in the pump housing?

Use a vice to hold one end of the shaft and try to spin it and see how bad it's hitting. Break out the dremel sanding wheel and go at it. You should be able to make it rideable till you replace the impeller housing. Once you get it free a little you can spray paint the housing lightly and spin to see where you are hitting and sand accordingly

for a inexperienced person, REV footholds are the wrong holds to buy...... the installation of them is by far the most difficult......

stick with some Wamiltons (Ricktors or Cyclones), Watercraft Factory or Blowsion Kickers.

With all due respect we must agree to disagree. :01:

With the help of this forum and the search feature I was able to install my REVs quite easily. I read all I could on the subject as any question I had was already answered in depth. First time playing with glass and it was easy.

This is a great place to start

yea I was but each one has sooooo many pages, i'd like to have just a few options infront of me. All I want to know is a link to a pair of footholds (straps) and how to install...

Not trying to be an ass, but if you are not willing to read and read and read about the subjects you wish to gain knowledge about, then you are in for some hard times. There are several easy to read how-to's on footholds. You have to be willing to put in your fair share of work before expecting others to spoon feed it to you. DO THE WORK. Read until you know so much about footholds that you feel like you've already installed some. READ READ READ

before I bought it the guy had the housing and impeller off so the drive is spinning fine and it runs and idles better than the 650:cool:

yea im willing to read but I'd rather read about something important like how to get this prop out before something like footholds because I don't even need them yet. Someone said to get used to riding without anything before I get them since I've never ridden one before and won't be doing anything stupid too soon (maybe next week):beerchug:
I'd rather spend my time working on the skis then reading! lol BUT yes I do understand your point

Regardless of what footholds you plan to install, prepare to spend a good amount of time cutting out the storage compartments inside the side wells before installing. It added a good 2 hours to the install mine - getting in there with every possible grinding tool and saw trying to get them out.

you have to cut out the storage compartments? Where does the extinguisher and flag go? Thanks for the advice on the prop I got it out and sanded it down, after some time I got it all back together. Need to register them on tuesday and will be out on both asap!

guys I have a problem with my ride plate though and the two bolts on the front of the intake grate. The bolt heads take up the whole space in the hole and theres no room to get a socket on them.... Anyone have this problem?

If thats too much work then maybe jetskiing isn't for you lol. A boat isn't like a car, they break a lot more often and are harder to maintain, well at least in my case

Dude, it took me less than 3 days to install those same holds, less than 10 hours total, could have done it in 1 day, but had to wait for glass to dry. I worked like 4-5 hours on them 1st day, 1 1/2 on the second and another hour or 2 on the third and was finished. I'm not sure how old you are, but that mentality won't get you very far in life.

Footholds aren't about show - they serve a purpose. Mine took a day to install, but I had help from another rider who knew what he was doing.

As for your question above, once you take out the storage compartments, you lose the fire extinguisher holder. Oops, sorry officer, my ski doesn't have a place to put a fire extinguisher. And what do you mean flag - what kind of flag?

Guys stop harassing this guy because he dosen't have footholds,he probably has no need for them at this point anyway.Try and remember some of the questions that you asked when you first started riding standups. Now go back and take a look at some of your posts here,is that really the way to help a new guy out? Less criticism and more helpfull comments. If your bolt heads are being a problem you can replace them with allen head bolts that you should be able to get at Lowes or Home Depot. The thread size is 6mm and you take one of your with you to match up the length. Now you see how easy that was?
