If thats too much work then maybe jetskiing isn't for you lol. A boat isn't like a car, they break a lot more often and are harder to maintain, well at least in my case

now that I have done it once, it will be easy the second time.
I did mine in the dead of winter in my "spare" time while working long hours and a long commute
I didnt get in a hurry and then lost momentum at the end when I bought my SquareNose:veryhappy:

Guys stop harassing this guy because he dosen't have footholds,he probably has no need for them at this point anyway.Try and remember some of the questions that you asked when you first started riding standups. Now go back and take a look at some of your posts here,is that really the way to help a new guy out? Less criticism and more helpfull comments. If your bolt heads are being a problem you can replace them with allen head bolts that you should be able to get at Lowes or Home Depot. The thread size is 6mm and you take one of your with you to match up the length. Now you see how easy that was?

Nobody is harassing him for not having footholds. He ASKED about footholds. He's being harassed for not having the patience to do his homework on what to buy and how to install them.

You don't have much patience, do you ?

nope thats what I meant by I don't have the patience for that.... OR time, I have school and right after that work and homework. I don't really care if my feet are being held by a strap or in a little compartment. I do whats easier cheaper and serves the purpose.

Dude, it took me less than 3 days to install those same holds, less than 10 hours total, could have done it in 1 day, but had to wait for glass to dry. I worked like 4-5 hours on them 1st day, 1 1/2 on the second and another hour or 2 on the third and was finished. I'm not sure how old you are, but that mentality won't get you very far in life.

im 17 I have a lot of other things to do. Don't have 10 hours to spend on footholds. I'd rather spend an hour installing straps AND I like having the storage compartments on the side so I am NOT cutting them out.

Honestly, ride the damn thing before installing footholds. I did this the first year before I put them on and upgraded to a bpipe.

Learn to ride the ski for what it is. Besides, if you really want that extra lift, you could always install the hydroturf lifters or a couple dakine straps.

And remember, the better you get on a stock ski, the better you will be all around. This is why I suggest not modding(though an impeller upgrade is usually the best upgrade that takes 2 hrs) till you get good with the handling of the ski and have nailed a few tricks down.

IF you ever decide to cut into the ski for footholds, (which you probably will if you have it long enough), there are plenty of places to move the fire extinguisher to in the engine compartment is you really want to have one on board.

Other than that, youve got the right idea with riding it first before jumping into all the mods youre not sure you need. You just need to be a little more patient (try at least) when people are taking time out to post up info for you.

get to the dmv and enjoy those suckers.

see comments like this make me not even want to post on here, theres no need for this. I was just asking for peoples opinions and yes in this way im education myself on which I want and now I know that I want a strap:pat:

sorry:sad2:

just sayin, if u dont want to do footholds dont, no reason to argure, you havent even been riding yet to know what you like

straps will be just fine and you dont have to compromise your storage if you decide to keep the ski:barrel:

thanks guys, im just gathering options here. Like someone said before on here I should just get used to skis then sell and get a superjet. I will probably end up doing that but I will keep these for a while but im not going to invest time and money in something im not even going to keep. I have no problem taking time out of my day to work on something that I will have for a long time, just not something im going to sell later on. Thanks for the help guys, seriously, im very happy both skis are ready to go besides that plate (getting the allen key bolts today) and then off we go to dmv tues. YAY!:woot: Hope my 750 is not too slow though with the prop grinded down so it spins without contact. :( lol

Wow, first things first, you gotta stop getting your panties in a wad. I think you need to strap one on, before talking about getting straps. You are asking questions and getting honest answers. Nobody is out to hurt your 'widdle feelings here - just giving you honest feedback. That's why I like this site - I ask a question, I get answers. Just relax, ask lots of questions and man up to the sarcasm.

its not sarcasm, its rude comments that aren't needed when im asking a simple question. Something like the one you just posted....no one asked you to respond to this post and be a dickhead... So please refrain from doing so

I believe I posted twice in this thread trying to help you out since I have the same skis as you. Of course you had to result to name calling over a little sarcasm. I didn't realize you were so sensitive.

I have an e-manual for a 750sx (not an sxi). You may think I'm a "dickhead" but I'd be willing to send it to you. Not sure if its the same for the sxi though.

sorry getting a little heated here, I was being misunderstood with this whole footholds thing. Thank you but no I already got a manual for my 750 from someone else, still need a 650sx manual though... Thank you again and sorry for the childish display

Footholds aren't about show - they serve a purpose. Mine took a day to install, but I had help from another rider who knew what he was doing.

As for your question above, once you take out the storage compartments, you lose the fire extinguisher holder. Oops, sorry officer, my ski doesn't have a place to put a fire extinguisher. And what do you mean flag - what kind of flag?

didn't even see you asked that question, must have read over it. But yes, a flag as in a pwc kit. Your supposed to carry a fire extinguisher, rope, flares, and a flag. Its just a big banner that opens up for signaling to people I guess:Banane26:
