I'm not trying to hate at all, but how does a 17 year old afford a 20+ thousand dollar car, and perhaps 20 thousand more in toys?

you've been working for what, maybe 2 years? pulling 20 grand a year while in high school is a lot.

I'm going to have to raise the flag purely because I dont think you bought all that stuff, but youre playing it off like the silver spoon in your mouth tastes bad.

:bsflag:

If you really did buy it all, kudos....it just doesn't seem likely to me.

yes I did buy it all, Ive been working since I was 5 for my parents doing chores to 12 working for my friend to 14 at mcdonalds 15 wendys 16cvs and now im 17 and still at cvs but now a pharmacy tech. Been saving every penny I could because I wanted a nice truck. Thats why I keep my things immaculate, I spent 7 hours working on these skis. Mostly cleaning, the rest was just maintenance which took about an hour. I really did plan on keeping these since people said how much fun they are but they are not for me... I had a 99 gp760 and I know I like sitdowns, its also more fun since my bro and dad have sitdowns. Also, I don't have 20k in toys....

I don't know if you read the whole article that one guy linked, but here's a good part you should read.

11) Learn to absorb force.

As I'm writing this, I can envision people taking it to the Nth degree and performing depth drops off a ten foot wall. Before we take it there, let me clarify my point a little bit.

What I'd like all trainees to have is at least a basic knowledge of how to absorb force. If you were to jump up in the air and then land with your knees straight and a loud "thud," you're not allowing your muscles and tendons to absorb force. Instead, all the force is being absorbed by your joints, and this just isn't a good thing if you value your knee joints (or ankles, hips, or lumbar spine for that matter!)

The vertical jump is actually a great test and exercise to utilize. Jump up in the air and try to minimize the sound when you hit the ground. Land with soft knees, soft feet, and lower into a half squat to absorb the force. I'm not trying to make you into an elite athlete with this recommendation, just give you some food for thought. It wouldn't kill you to be a little more athletic, would it?

Your knees hurt because they are taking a beating. Try repading the ski with a lot of underpadding to absord the shock. 25mm? is like 1inch thick and could help a lot. Also, try that exercise and see if you are distributing the force right.

If you ride quads, race quads, and ride them right, you are not at the extended position you describe. You have to get way down on the side of the quad and have your knees bent 45 degrees or more and shoved into the front fender to properly corner. Maybe you're riding utility quads and that's why your knees are extended. If that's the case, then I can understand where your comming from when you say you want a couch. Utility bikes are the couches of MX.

I understand you hurt yourself, and I can't say how bad it was or how you should have recovered. i can however comment on my own injury, which I had at 19, where I obliterated my right foot. I was on a dirt bike and shattered 3 of the metatarsals of my foot. I was immediatly put into surgery, which most of the surgery was removing fragment and some of it was splinting, it was bad. It took 2 years to conjure up the testies to get back on that bike. i can assure you, that every amount of pain I have felt since I broke that foot, has been due to the lack of rehab. I have not recovered fully in muscle tone and I don't take a normal stride which causes probelms. All of those problems are correctable. I (and in your instance, probably that is) need to spend more time rehabing.

I don't know about you, but I took my injury like a champ. I look at the things that hurt as a problem with me. No injury is going to hold me back. Maybe your injury is really than bad, maybe you need to man up, or maybe MX and stand ups just are not for you. That's your call, but if your riding sport MX, you can ride a stand up, you may not like it, but say you don't like it, and not that you can't. Can't is for **************. Not liking something doesn't make you a puss.

It has a PWC today sticker on it and no X-h2o decal on it. It's worth $100. i give that to you np. Fix that sticker problem and you might be able to get your asking price. Remember, any messed up ski is worth less, so just fix it and get some more $$ in the same. =P

thanks for the info man, yes I do like the skis a lot. I ride my blasters in trails by my house and I used to race motocross but now I go to the track for fun since I don't push as hard now. Im not saying I can't, im just saying its uncomfortable for me. In a way you guys can say im taking an easy way out but I think the sitdowns are just as much fun, especially since thats what my dad and brother have. I just like to ride anything with a motor, don't care what it is...

This has got to be the gayest thread ever....or gayest person ever. Not too sure which one, but its close...Don't get a sit down; Be a man and ride a stand up...I'm sure it would be ok if you had a stand up while your brother and father ride the couches. But if you decide to go couch, have fun turning left and right and maybe ride it standing up if you wanna get crazy.:clown:
