If you start "giving back" to those who have "donated", then you have defeated your purpose. Sounds like donor's remorse to me. Like someone is saying I'll donate as long as there is something in it for me. Kinda takes away from the donation status in my opinion.

well I did not see it this way that make it it so negative to me so scratch that and give it to who ever. I have no remorse of donating my time to paint the ski and I did it many time for other local guy. what I have done good or bad is done for good so we could go on about this. I just wanted to reward the donnater that is all a $5 raffle ticket.

Just plain me....
My comment was not necessarily directed at you personally. I'm sure you did donate for the good. But so did everyone else. But wanting to split the money with SBT/PWCToday wouldn't be fair for everyone else who donated. Especially since the money was to be going for non-profit causes.

there was lots of friction between both site at first and they have come around for the good of the sport. Peoples bashing PWCtoday just to be here and all the drama that got raised from it. most have lost the sight of what it was about. so if you give a $5 ticket to PWCtoday I'm sure they may donate it to a good cause. but I cant speak for them, so I'm just assuming. I hope Steph will read this.

I think PWCtoday should get a share since they donated the motor with warranty.
as for the JK fund is great but there is a little boy that could use some help too. see LISALISA on the other side.
the x and PWCtoday should share
and may I ask for snackem what is about?
That statement sounded like more than a $5 raffle ticket. You may have wanted to have clarified yourself a bit. Your posts are a little hard to read & understand.

when I found out about Paul stolen ski I volunteered to give away the hull for Paul and that before it was even posted here. at first the ski was to replace the stolen ski from a good friend then after it was recover to be given for free to a junior. then now is to be sold as a raffle.
from non profit it jumped to profit, because mainly of the liability involved in it.
And I think that sbt/pwctoday did something great along with all the other that donated the parts. and this tread could have been hosted by any pwc web site and it was no way to stop us from putting this together so sbt did a very generous donation. and deserve it as much as Hx-20.
and what ever someone think is right or wrong to do. someone else will have a different outlook on it and that maybe the only freedom we have left. to be right or wrong.
I think I'm going to put that on my sig.

I thought the idea about the jr rider was great, but also wondered about the liability issue. Sad that you try to do something good for someone & then have to worry about getting kicked in the nuts for the good deed.

For what it's worth,I think the 3 way split is great. We are helping one of our own, helping a hero to us all, and helping a site that keeps us all together.

And Charlie, thank you for spearheading this & all of your hard work at getting it put together. Kudos :fing02:

exactly.

i ran the idea of hosting fees for the x past steph and she was totally cool with it. they donated the engine for charity. giving money back to the x, a non-profit site that made putting the ski together possible, seems like a very sensible thing to do... to me anyhow.

i understand louie's point about giving back to pwctoday, but truthfully, as mentioned before, itd defeat the purpose of them donating the engine in the first place. i may as well have just bought the engine and kept a third for myself at the end. the amount that theyd end up getting would be a drop in the bucket to such a big company and im sure theyd rather see it go to better good, which is why they 'donated' to begin with.

no other engine builders 'stepped up' because, at first, i had the engine covered. then that fell through. sbt was the first engine builder that i asked and steph stepped up almost immediately and said 'yes'.

also, the snackem fund ( http://x-h2o.com/showthread.php?t=27697 ) and jk fund ( http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=98638&highlight=%22joe+kenney%22 ) speak for themselves, i think.

louie, youre missing the point. sbt did not donate an engine so that they could benefit monetarily. nobody did.... i hope.:scratchchin:

ANYWAY, does ANYONE else have a driveshaft that theyd care to donate? im sure theres an engine builder on that site thats got one laying around ;)

or anyone have one for sale ?
I'll gladly pay for a good one so let me know.

Charlie, you are the brains (I just got a chill) behind this whole project so it should be your call as to what happens to this ski.
I wish it could have gone to some youngster but because of STUPID liability crap that seams like a no go. Maybe the junior lifeguards could use the ski but again, there's the liability factor.

I just hope who ever gets this ski will enjoy it.

I have say about the liability since first day. oh well I'm not always wrong. just ebay the ski with a reserve set by this board member that have donated. then get each one to decide to where the money goes
I'm starting by giving my (said) to Dylan fund. see LISALISA tread on PWCtoday.

robert, youve kicked in a lot already on this thing and its very much appreciated.

its not just a liability issue. its the possibility of someone getting the ski then seeing it for sale on ebay. i know id be pissed that happened.

with a raffle, money is being drawn in by people that either want to contribute to the any of the 3 causes and/or want a 701 SJ with a new motor and paint. at $5 per ticket, it should create enough draw to raise a decent amount of money to go to charity. and if the person ends up selling it on ebay or where ever, it doesnt matter because the funds originally made from it already went to charity.

see what im getting at?

someone getting hurt with this ski and I'm not the only one that have say about it. but never mind I will stay away from now on you guys do what ever.
Looks like every time I say something it is not what you wanted to hear.
we did talk about the liability you and me at my shop once.
Louie out.

we discussed the liability thatd be present if you retain ownership. if you sell/give away the ski and sign the title over w/ a bill of sale, the liability is the same as any other ski that youve ever sold.

or am i missing something??
