I thought the idea about the jr rider was great, but also wondered about the liability issue. Sad that you try to do something good for someone & then have to worry about getting kicked in the nuts for the good deed.
For what it's worth,I think the 3 way split is great. We are helping one of our own, helping a hero to us all, and helping a site that keeps us all together.
And Charlie, thank you for spearheading this & all of your hard work at getting it put together. Kudos :fing02:
exactly.
i ran the idea of hosting fees for the x past steph and she was totally cool with it. they donated the engine for charity. giving money back to the x, a non-profit site that made putting the ski together possible, seems like a very sensible thing to do... to me anyhow.
i understand louie's point about giving back to pwctoday, but truthfully, as mentioned before, itd defeat the purpose of them donating the engine in the first place. i may as well have just bought the engine and kept a third for myself at the end. the amount that theyd end up getting would be a drop in the bucket to such a big company and im sure theyd rather see it go to better good, which is why they 'donated' to begin with.
no other engine builders 'stepped up' because, at first, i had the engine covered. then that fell through. sbt was the first engine builder that i asked and steph stepped up almost immediately and said 'yes'.
also, the snackem fund (
