I'm just curious, if there was a OEM 800cc freestyle class on the national tour who would compete?

OEM hull
800cc max engine
Limited setup
Footholds
Hand holds

Seems like a perfect way to get people into the sport but keep cost low.

Would it be unfair if someone like me competed in that class? Or should it only be for new comers?

I would think AM hull or modified OEM hull with cc limitations would do better as it would mean flips and rolls are possible.

I would say if u compete in high skill u shouldn't be aloud in lower classes at wf this year there was a huge debate about this in am class

But then you'd have to buy a AM hull to do good, wouldn't give the guy with a sj or sxr a chance if they allowed a $10,000 hull. Kinda defeats the purpose.

Is it really unfair to let a pro compete if he is also on a oem hull and limited setup, it's still just hood tricks

This sounds like a good idea would be alot of fun for the riders idk if people would be really into watching tho without flips and big air but still seems really fun

This would be super boring to watch. There are plenty of older affordable after market hulls on the market for entry level. Maybe a new class could be 800cc and glass hull?? Just my 2 cents. I totally agree there is a rediculous expensive barrier to be competitive, but don't feel it has to go back to old school.

i also think that a REAL freestyle competitor makes it fun for the fans by mixing new school and old school. i give more credit to the people who can do an old school log roll and ride it out versus someone who can pull the throttle lean back and land a backflip on a new hull

how many people on here can actually ride out a legit turn sub or barrel roll an OEM hull

I guess none of you have seen Jeremy Parr compete on his SJ. It is not a spin and flip routine. 2008 was my last year to compete the writing was on the wall. I do not have 80 for a hull much less 12-14k for a 900cc comp motor. There is very little Amateur in A mater Freestyle now. The lowest score Amateur at Havasu would give Malone or Lenzi a run for their money if you put the 2004 runs against the current runs these amateurs are performing. Amateur or Novice freestyle should be about piecing together routines and ski handling
