Quick update on those riders who went big and paid big for it at the Surf Slam:
Spoke with Mike Serlin last night. He had the surpgery to place the rod in his Tib/Fib Wednesday morning and though he's still in a lot of pain, is doing well and should be released from the hospital in Arroyo Grande, CA by Sunday or Monday....full recovery expected, though he'll be on crutches for 6-9 months.
Jerry Brandon also flat landed a huge backey and upon impact, recieved a shattered right ankle. Trooper that JFB is, he said screw the hospital for now...I wanna stay and watch the rest of the competition. So we rolled him around on the beach cart and at the end of the day he finally reported to the hospital. His doc will put him under this next wednesday and place a plate to bring it all back together. I'm pushing him to see if they can do it at another area hospital as his doc wants to do it at Sierra Vista - that $hithole Joe Kenney was "treated" and I use the term loosly, at when he was attacked. He's checking to see if the same Ortho doc who worked on Serlin can do him as well...stay tuned.
Best wishes to you both....you put on a great show and I can hardly wait to see you ride again.
Hugs to you both,
LP
