I'm about to cry!

lol. I did man. I have started it like 3 times now at most for 1 minute. I poured so much oil in there that it is pooping diahrea out the exaust and on to my nice garage floor.

It sucks man. I have to go fire up the torpedo heater for 40 minutes just to get it warm enough in there to start it and then I have to start it and open the garage door to get the SUPER THICK WHITE STINKY SMOKE out of my garage!%#$%#^%!@#%^!#@^%!#^%#

The floor will never be the same.

I have since moved my quad (filthy for the same f'ing reason cuz it broke last time I went riding and blah blah blah!!) with a big nasty towel over it directly behind it so that salt water/oil/gas/PB bLaster don't just go flying all over the f'ing place!

Anyway. Its running and I think it might possibly be Ok.

I'm still looking for a motor. I'm watching EBAY and contimplating a big dollar motor purchase. WDK bolt in?

Thats Good to hear , I thought you were going to let a little CHILL stop ya ! ! do a compression test next , if comp is good .. I say run it ! if not you know what to do !

Just ran it again for a minute with a piece of clean paneling behind the exaust and a towel on the ground.

I saw 2 maybe 3 microscopic shavings of metal stuck in to the board upon VERY close inspection. Compression checks at 180 per cylinder so I am just gonna run it.

As soon as it warms up I'll take it outside and really run it good witht the hose.

Thanks for all the leads on motors guys but I think its time to build/buy me a 180HP monster ripper.

I dunno what yet though.

Before you build that 180HP monster-ripper, be sure to learn about properly treating water ingestion. :Banane01:

ha ha. I will never under estimate salt again. Thats for sure.

Fresh water may have done the same (I don't think so though) but it would have taken 3 months to do it and by then I would have been able to start it.

I've blown my share of motors, I feel for ya.
Saltwater really brought out the weaknesses in my electrical system.

Yep... my start stop switch was zapping me all weekend and I was running on one cyllinder more than two...

:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Madmat..I am concerned that your crank bearings might be shot and you might take out your cyllinder/cases/head/pistons/crank like I did... when all you really might need to do is put a new crank/topend/hone in that sucker and you have a brand new motor for about $600.

I am too but I don't care. I'm buying another motor and I'll rebuild this one when it blows.

you missed his point - which was- stop and think about it, a crank and seals now or possibly destroy more of the motor and double your expense to fix it. you are down for the time being so now is a good time to pull it out, bring it inside and fix it before it warms up.

I thought this threw. I just want a complete back up bolt in motor regardless of whether or not I rebuild this one right now.

And yes I really don't care anymore. I work so friggin hard I would rather just blow motors and buy replacement bolt ins.

Then I will always have one ready and not miss any of my pathetic 3 months of riding.

That looks like one a dem dare race motors.

To complex and those sleeves look they are on their last bore.

I want a fresh 61x 48mm 7??cc I think.

I guess I could live with having to switch over flywheel and electrics if all I can find/afford is a shortblock but I really don't even want to have to that.

I'm talkin back out in the water in 1 hour kind of set up.

I forgot!
this happened to the motor i have now when it sank and wasn't run long enough on the hose. We got it running and thought it was dryed out but a few days later on its first run it let go from too much heat from rust maybe? the ski sank while the motor was not running (don't ask) luckily steve shut the motor off right when he heard a clunk. a borrowed crank and two pistons outta the back of a pickup truck from a friend and it ran for two more years. you should tear it apart and check it or at least send it to me to blow up  i mean tear apart.

That is not what I want to see.

So I just unraveled the old 100 footer and hooked it up to the basement sink and set the water at about 70 or 80.

Then I had to roll the ski over the ice to the gate and kick the gate open for 5 minutes to break the ice. Then I rolled the ski to the end of the driveway.

Next I had to carry (by myself over same said ice) my GF empty ski (so that I could use her start stop switch and I didn't feel like taking it off and I don't know how to just bypass the switch!$#$@%!~$#) to the end of the driveway and set it next to mine.

This time I let it run for about 10 or 15 minutes with the hose running.

Killed the hose, blew her out. I'm about to check comp again but I think it will be fine and whatever happens happens.
