you can try to turn this whole thing around on me. its simply a cop-out on your part to do so, as youve done it numerous times in the past.

anybody with half a brain can see that.

this rules out all of you bible thumpers.

so, can any of you holier-than-though admins/mods answer one simple question?

if a post has to be approved by a mod before the mod publishes it, and the approval is based on the post not breaking the site rules, why was it published AND nick get an infraction?

again, nevermind who is asking the question, just answer it. when youre done answering it, you can say whether or not you think your statement actually makes sense.

....or you can cop out and change the subject (probable).

Had you made that post it would not have been approved. (at least by me).

But, because Nick made it, it was a thread about him it was approved. What Darin said is true. Regardless of how we handle it, certain people are gonna complain.

Now, would I have approved it and then given the infraction, probably not. (that is just me). If I had seen it after another mod approved it, I might have given the infraction. There are 4 of us, we all look at things differently. We are also human. Somedays I will overlook somethings and others I wont. I am not gonna sit here and tell you my mood never effects my judgement. Nor can you.

How was the coke?

(oh, stared this last night, went to be instead of finishing. Now let me go look and see what other whining has taken place since 10:00 last night)

to me it seems like they moderate the neg feedback thread to keep people out that arent directly involved. Nick was directly involved with that thread and his post was allowed to be published because that is how he wanted his response to be. Even if it was against rules and getting him an infraction, that was his response to a neg feedback thread against him. If it was someone like me or charlie or anyone, it would never have been published because it doesnt involve us, therefore no infractions would be issued.

I may be way off on that but thats what I think.

At least someone can open their eyes and see it for what it is.

wow. hope you didnt spend too much.

I did mine like that and ended up putting a layer of glass over it.

did you talk to him about it first, or just post this up??

IMO i dont think that is fair. granted, yes, the workmanship is obviously not quite what you would expect but i would also give the guy a chance to explain himself even if not to fix the problem. it goes a long way in these kinds of posts to say "heres the problem and heres what the offending party says about it". not saying that this is defendable or should be taken lightly, obviously the work was sub par. but i do think he deserves the right to at least explain himself to YOU the buyer before being called out here in a public thread.

just my .02

i would just contact him. he seems like a pretty stand up kinda guy. i dont think he would screw someone intentionaly

nick is a great guy and does good work, you should have called him before posting this thread, he does a lot for the sport, happens to host the best freeride event in the world ,he has done so much for the freeride sport and community, you should only post a negative thread when something cant be resolved or other person wont make it right

you know, the more and more I talk to people and the more I read (recently)...it seems more and more people dont care about this kind of stuff...

I saw someone earlier this year get refused a tow by another standup rider....

Its :):):):)ty attitudes and riders not working together that make me want to ride my same little corner with the same 4-5 guys week after week and say F the rest :censored:

I have a WD hood He modded after it was broken Killer JOB no ISSUES
after way too many 3/4 roll and surf abuse.

Chit Happens its how the parties involved handdle it:ugh2:

Nick did a nose repair on one of my Octanes, and its the only part of the ski where the turf isn't falling off and the paint isn't flaking.

HOORAY, Nick! :woot:

So what are the details? I know that isn't ceiling tile. Looks like the fiberglass panels you can buy at home depot. That's what I've used before and it works great. What's the exact problem? Looks like the adhesive is letting go along one side. Not that you should have to, but even if you have to do a bit of repair, you're tons ahead if you didn't have to remove the liner and cut the new liner to size. It's not the easiest job. If you're going to accuse him of bad workmanship and using bad materials, then you should at least be complete and accurate. If you're going to call it ceiling tile, then you might as well say it was elmers glue and paper mache.

Nick does great work and is a stand up guy - everyone knows this. Not contacting him and posting this was a mistake and makes you look bad.

well this just went from bad to worse.

All I can say is somethimes things go wrong. Everyone need to realize that. I'm sure Nick never ment to screw anyone over.

What ever happened to doing a great job just because it was the right thing to do and so you wouldn't ever have to worry about it coming back, that concept seems to be totally foreign here.I have found that if I am happy with the finished product then the customer is happy with it as well,if I have a concern I fix it because if I don't time has proven it will be back at which point you get to fix it for free.

And I left a few posts out that should be included. Not one of the above posts is from anyone that is directly involved with the negative feedback on Nick's work, and does nothing but fuel the fire for those that can see the inconsistencies of the moderation of the thread.

IMO you should either open it up for all, or keep it between the two parties involved, or get rid of the feed back section all together.

Hey Rick, I cannot explain. Why?
1. Because I did not approve them.
2. I was about 200 miles from you when that thread started and did not get on the site for a week. Had little to no internet service.
3. There is no one person that moderates this section. We all look at things differently. Have I ever made a decision that was the wrong one. Hell yes. Have I ever gone back and reversed anything, all the time. I cannot speak for Matt, Darin or Penguin.

Last time I checked, this thread was about how we handle infractions and explaining the results of multiple infractions. You want to talk about that, I am all ears.(or eyes). The direction of this thread has gone the way of many before it. People are gonna bitch at myself, Darin, Matt and Shawn regardless of how we deal with anything. But we expect it. Are we perfect, well, according to Charlie we think we are. You and I have met and talked in person. You can make that call.

How are the kids.

Again, you're missing the point. If they are relevant to the thread, they are approved.

What exactly do you want, a black/white solution? There isn't one. The feedback forum has worked pretty well IMO the way it's set up currently. We don't have the huge flamewars like we used to and most of the negativity is confined to that forum nowadays.

The other options are open it up to be a free-for-all or do away with it so the negative threads end up in other forums (they will be posted no matter what).

We can't win, you don't agree, we get that, just live with how it is. No matter what we do there will be people that want to discredit it. I think some people just want to prove that the 'in charge' people are wrong or whatever. Even if we left it wide open there would be bitching about that.

You know what Darin, lets just open everything up. Zero Moderation. Do away with the moderators, Super Mods, Me and You. Let Rick post up something for sale, have 50 people post dump it to death, but that is ok, he will not sell the item he was trying to sell because of all the crap. Let Kennay jump all over Nick, Bombthreat as well. Let Nick insult every single person here that has a different view than himself. Wait, that would be 99% of the members, ok, that is fine. Edwin will turn the site into a Supercross or fishing site. Charlie will bash every single couch owner at will and or hispanics (granted after my week in Orlando/Kissimee area I can kinda understand). Members can just go off on their former builders or suppliers. Set our PM's to autorespond with "dont bother us, we dont care anymore because you do not care".

What you think???

Oh, I am not mad, sitting hear cooling off from cutting the grass, drinking a beer and watching The Nascar race. I say that because Charlie will probably say "Hey, are you pissed off or something?"

I'll never get it, we do so very little moderation and that's the one place we actually do, and a whopping 2 people out of 5000+ (or however many we have now) members have a problem with it and it doesn't even affect them personally.

End of thread.
