is this what the inside of the RAD flywheel is supposed to look like?

just bought this and noticed this on the inside.

idk what it supposed to be in side i thought it was maybe just some dirt and grime but it looks to be more like a coating that is chipping and wearing off on the inside.

can some one let me know if its fine to run?

wouldn't that flywheel be off balance with that damage... either way im sure it will cause more vibration then normal

richard, idk if its safe or not.. pay close attention to the teeth. are they starting to round? clean all the magnet junk out of it... any hairline cracks?

That flywheel was removed from a perfect running ski. The magnets are recessed into it! It IS NOT off balanced...and didn't vibrate or anything like that while running. The picture of the flywheel above does not look like a charging one! the flywheel certainly isn't new but functions just fine!

I don't care if came off a running ski or not. It's not in good shape.:spank:
I wouldn't run that. It could let go and take out your stator & cases:Banane37:

That pic Dag put up is a jetinetics charging flywheel,if it was atotal loss flywheel you would see two small round magnets 180 degrees from each other. That other flywheel looks like ass,it would make a really nice paperweight.

It will not "let go" and take out your stator & Cases!.....unless it is installed incorrectly.

It was on a perfect running Super Jet 650 I used for a year and a half before parting it out! It may not look "like new" but it functions 100%.

Would you cover it if the flywheel did let go ?

demolition_x, why don't you measure the inside of that flywheel and the outside of your stator. Just curious how much clearance you will have.

It looks like he is trying his best to cover it now ,his ass that is lol.:haha::haha::haha:

here are some more. it def looks like something got caught inside.

there are some of the coating missing and something else looked like it cracked inside the damaged "holes"

if you notice the "hole" on the right there is something cracked over the magnet.

Its from a 650 so it will work on the 61x motor as well! Nothing ever let go of the STATOR or was loose in there.....I still have the stator from that ski and its MINT.

Shait, I forgot that all my spare stuff is in the van ready for Daytona and the van is at the shop.

Tried searching for an old thread but can't for the life of me find it.
3 3/4" is stuck in my head for the 61X stator but I'm not sure.
