Great thread. To the OP... if riding is your passion, and she can't get on board with that, time to move on for sure.
I was with my ex 4 years and she went out the lake with me 1 time. <---(ungrateful spoiled bitch) When I first started dating my current GF(soon to be wife) she told me that she and her friends would sit on the bank and wish they had a friend with a boat or skis. She rarely misses and opportunity to get on the water. I honestly didn't know how miserable I was before. Now I'm with someone who shares interests with me and loves me for being me. If I haven't been on my ski in a few days she starts to get worried and asks me whats up. If ya don't do what makes ya happy it's gonna put a damper on your mojo. How you gonna hit it right without your mojo? YOur girl has to understand this. If not, time to trade he in on a new one!
This is awesome.
My wife isn't a 'girly girl', which is part of why I married her. She's the chick who wants to prove that she can do anything the boys can. She's very supportive of my hobbies, be it custom cars or jet skis (or guns, or photography or.... LOL). I bought her a SN a while back and she's getting really good and comes to the lake with me 75% of the time.
She's the 'responsible one', and sometimes I have to remind her that having fun is just as important as being productive. I like the 'mojo' comment, thats how I feel when I haven't been on the water in awhile. She doesn't say 'whats wrong?' usually she'll say "tired of seeing you mope around the house, go to ride for cryin out loud!" LOL...
Whoever said "Wait til you have kids..." that ain't no lie. My parents live 45min away, but 10 min from a great riding spot, so it works out.
GL to everyone who has GF's that complain about your hobby and how much time you spend doing it. It won't get any better if you stay with them, I can pretty much assure you that.
