Just thought it was a funny subject to bring up that's all, wasn't looking for any advise really. I still will continue to ride whenever I want because that what I like to do whether she likes it or not. Riding is #1 everything else second for me I just do the gf thing when it fits in

I prefer keeping jetskiing and women (wife) seperate. That's my time to act crazy, push it and let down my hair and just hang with the guys. She'd be like..., stop that, you'll break your leg again, bla, bla, clank, clank, etc, etc. I'm mid 40's and young minded, she is mid 40's and old minded. Yeah, I believe any sport, in this case jetskiing, that takes away time, money and focus away from her (and the kids) is irritating to them, whether married or not.
Chicks, basically want to control your @ss, don't let um. My wife is hot, she cooks, cleans, a great mom, good woman, etc, BUT likes to control me a bit too much. Her good outways the bad, so I just deal with it. It seems we all deal with this to one degree or another. Just don't puss out and give in. Game over after that, forever. LOL.

LOL, had an a now EX, bitch me out when i rode motorcycles, she was yelling at me that she wished she was a motorcycle so i would ride her, talk about her, spend money on her, and show her off as much as i do my bike.... LMAO, 6 month relationship haha

I was reading this thread while on the phone. It seems that I should be going to an August wedding of two people who I have met once, going to BC to visit some people I have never met (also during August,) going to a 40th birthday for a girl I have seen possibly 3 times this Saturday.... oh, and would I like to get together for supper on Sunday.
I now have to find at least 3 reasons that I cannot do these things (I will do one of them, but planning 4 weekends of my summer away from my ski in one phone conversation is stupid.) I will make up half lies. My grandparents really are moving. They hired movers, but I am certain that they will need some support. I can take a load to the dump for half an hour and spend the rest of the day with my 300lb true love of fiberglass and metal. I am pretty certain that I have a planned reunion with high school buddies one of those weekends and ... any other suggestions?
I do not like lying, but if I did not I would have every second of my time spoken for months in advance. These 4 new things are in addition to nights that I have already agreed to block off for her (a night at the opera, a night at the theater, her birthday, my birthday, her brothers birthday, her family BBQ among others.) The main problem is that I plan very little in advance aside from knowing that I want to be on the lake as much as possible... so when she says that there is a wedding in August and the only plan I have is being with my ski she assumes I do not have plans (the ski is not really a plan as such according her view... just something I like to do.) I actually refer to it as cheap therapy. It is either hours each summer with it or hours on a leather couch...
I suppose the only real good thing reading this thread is that we are not close enough that she has any thoughts of where my $$$ goes. Having to lie about time in addition to $$$ would be a little tougher.

-My wife and I started out by meeting thru friends. I used to race karts and she was down with it for awhile. then started to lose interest. AS did I. I bought 2 skis, a couch and a standup, she learned to ride along with me and we always made time to ride together on the couch before the end of the day. It got old. I got tired of the couch and she lost interest in riding pretty much alone as i was on my sxi all day. she stopped riding for awhile. still pretty much to this day, One day out of the blue..she tells me she has found something she wants as a present. I am thinking what?.. another purse, concert tickets? anything. she sends me an email at work and has found a nice used searay boat. she called the owner and bought it. Now 2 years later. we take the boat out almost everyweekend. she likes the boat and music and sun and I still go out on my ski and ride. we now have a toddler and we all go, I still get to ride. she likes to watch and take pics.
To the OP-Finding the balance is hard. Most all chicks say they love something you enjoy in the beginning of the relationship..to attract and maintain your attention. But the bottom line is they dont think like we do, They arent thinking about trim setups,impeller pitches and jetting specs at work. They think about what you have planned for them come saturday.. Sometimes the relationship tapers off to a point where they feel you dont care about them and are an a**hole for ditching them. Then they start accusing you of looking and flirting with other chicks while they arent around. You gotta find the right ones. We are all in the same boat or will be at some point in our lives with hobbies like this. Just Have Fun and respect others

Not all girls are that cool and they are not all the same. There are many that are very controlling. Some of my friends who are the nicest guys and great to their women are miserable and controlled and are not allowed to do anything. Some of these friends I have not seen in years. They were forced to sell all their toys and are not allowed out without their wives/girlfriends.
It took getting rid of quite a few girls who were never going to get it and never had any fun before I found the right one. Now life is good and I am married. The whole point is don't settle for someone who is NOT compatible with you and what you love to do.
There are millions of fish in the sea. Breaking up with one girl is not going to make you ALONE (not that there is anything wrong with that).

You need to find the right one like I did. When she goes to the Daytona free ride and takes 8 of your friends to a strip club them picks them all up drunk at 3 am you know she's a keeper lol. My gf (now fiancé) is amazing. She doesn't mind sitting on the beach and she always wants to try and ride. I say keep fishing!

I'm all for girlfriends that like to let you play or that want to go to the lake with me. If your chick doesn't like to do that stuff make sure you think twice before giving her the boot. Someday your back and knees will be junk from riding like me.......then what???? I have barely ridden my freak this year due to back and knee issues.

My wife hates my Superjet but loves the SXR, which is completely fine with me because I much prefer the SJ. She says she will go out for a ride with me as long as she DOES NOT have to ride the SJ. Now she is interested in driving the speedboat and making waves for us...
