Kawi vs yami debate

So the guy that says he "heard" the big hub was great somehow has more knowledge than people who've tried it. Is it because once its posted on the X ... it must be true? That same person says he needs a big hub impeller for his SNSJ yamaha pump ..... ? Im wondering if he knows how to install a primer.

BTW JonnyX2 is a grandfather. Not younger than you. Not sure how you even began to think he was.

Heres a video of my small hub solas IJK prop right out of the box on a single carbed 650 Kawi . I've run in this same setup a big hub as well as a big hub with a stuffer. I got the worst responce from just the big hub. I dont understand why people put a big hub in a pump with a smaller stator vein section but oh well. Im going back to installing primers.

I have a 200 and it is Awesome simply Awesome in the Corner! I do recommend that measure your Exit (reduction) nozzle, if less than 80mm replace it. this will give you better "error Correction" when cornering, IMO... It is still important to have good technique, Left turns lean and drop off the back(reduces the risk of being High Sided), Right lean into the handle pole and out over the Right side(and you will just drive it through).

How did I start crap? Im actually still trying to help , not sure why. I never said or thought you were a teen , mainly because your age is writen in your profile on the left hand side under your name over on PWCToday. To a grandfather , your a youngster. And Jonny will ride circles around you all day long. Prune juice or not. If you show up at the world finals in Havasu you can watch him race for the title. Jonny didnt make a crappy comment , it was the only true to the point comment Ive heard yet. But you can listen to the kid who's looking for a yami big hub for his yami pump if you'd like. If you were smart you'd listen to the advice thats been given over there. Everyone who replied over there has been there and done that. But you can try and reinvent the wheel if you'd like.

The bigger Yamaha pump is why the 701 feels it has more bottom end and throttle response. If kawasaki had bigger pumps they would be a lot better. Hp wise they are very close and then the weight difference between the two explains why they ride the way they do.

JonnyX2 sure helped me with my SXR setup. Everything from carburetor jetting/tuning, ignition curves, pump setup and water routing. With his setup help, my SXR flat out rips. If he is kind enough to offer you advice, LISTEN...

10 years ago I had a Kawi sxi with some typical motor mods. Dave @ Impros told me thAt in all his years of propping the 750 he would only recommend the skat swirl c-75 9/17 for recreation free riding. I went with it and it really made a difference. Not sure if there has been much more development for the 750's but if you looking for big bottom end hit you will want to go with something bigger than a 140mm pump.

I did some testing on this topic yesterday. I had four people test ride a stock 96 sxi (all stock besides 4" weled to rideplate" back to back with a 61x SN (all stock besides R&D front sponsons, open intake grate, footholds, and solas yb-sc-a prop).
they all prefered the sxi. I myself prefer the sxi. That stock SN is a dud. its a little more torqie and almost as fast on top, but at it has no pep anywhere in the power. it's amazing what a pipe and compression does for these things...

I broke down and bought a 14 superjet. The pricing is down to dealer cost, and financing is pretty easy.
Its my first superjet, fun boat. Way lighter then the sxr but they both are fun. I think I am starting to develop a jet ski sickness. Glad to see your trying stuff out. The superjet is a great platform to start out on. Tons of options!
