I'll check with a couple of the local guys here first. How much for the one you have just in case they don't? BTW sorry for jacking this thread this is my last question!
Motor DONE. Figured out shimming. Everything lines up perfect. Wish I had moved the exhaust tube outboard, the RAD Dudes RN exhaust hose I got hits the corner of the aft carb. Easy fix I'm sure just gotta figure out how to shift the hose a little. Factory pipe is a tight fit I hope I can keep the chamber from hitting the hull. (it did before). Need to paint motor mounts they look like a$$.
Getting close. I really need to get going on the hood. It will prolly be water worthy but not have a hood which kills the whole water worthiness thing. Picking up paint on Mon and hopefully I will be ready for that. E-box just in looks is worth every penny.
Nose cap body work finished and got a couple layers of carbon bagged on to seal it all up. Just need to hand lay up some of the carbon/kevlar to finish it off.
Getting everything sized up. Just needs a little wet sanding and it will be ready for clearcoat. Hood is far enough out that I am just going to glass up the hacked up OEM hood just so I can get it to the water
Cleaned up edges of nosecap with some 1in carbon tape. Also got hull and deck primed with some Ful-Fill acrylic primer. Managed to get about 15 of its 20yrs of scratches and gouges off.
Pump DONE. Got my exit nozzle back from the machinist at work bored to 85mm. I cut off the sprayer outlet to give ATP steering nozzle clearance. Paint is cured on the hull so I am ready to flip it back over for the home stretch.
Deck DONE. This is huge. Asked the paint shop for a white so white you could barely look at it, in one of the toughest paints on the planet (Imron 3.5 HG+ single stage). They obliged.
Motor is going in this weekend. Hope to up and running by next. I will definitely be ready for part 2. All my friends are out riding now and its killing me. Agenda for the week is hood, turf and get it fired up
AC Racing handlepole DONE. Bagged on three plies 5oz twill. Welder at work did an awesome job on the shortening of it -2in. Carbon is just added security and bling.
So I figured out how to keep my exhaust hose from hitting my carbs. I had a length of carbon fiber tube left from my exhaust pipe build so I whipped up a quick offset dogleg coupler. Handlepole is sanded and clear coated and I am stoked, it turned out awesome. I ended up with one straggler strand of carbon fiber coming right down the middle of the pole from the top. Torqued me at first but now I think it adds character
gonna make it out this weekend? I'm gonna try to hit up either boyd or cherry creek on Saturday. Would love to see this things maiden voyage after all of this work if you are taking it out.
Kind of wishing that I would have started the hood a little earlier. Still have at least two solid nights of layups on it and then paint. Got pole bracket mounted and set up, motor and elec are all in. After I get hood bagged tonight I will be getting exhaust and fuel tank in. Plan on turfing and starting it up this wknd. Not sure if I will make to the water this wknd though.
