Super Jet Keepin it Square **DONE** (for now)

I've been busy the last couple of days on the ski. Hood DONE (kinda). Turf DONE. Gonna finish up motor install tonight and get it fired up. Never mind the mess or paint on my camera lens I have been scrambling to finish. I wanted to keep the spirit of the square with this build and I kinda think I did.

Hate to beat a dead horse here. It has been nice to have a forum all to myself the other two ColoRADo riders and a couple others that comented. It turned out to be a pure build forum. East coast, west coast and Michigan guys dominate here, have the sweetest builds and is where I got 99% of my info. This is my first go at a ski and with over 300hrs into it and learning a new skill (vacuum bagging), knowing my sled inside and out I had an absolute blast with this.

I want to thank Zach at PHP for the work on my cylinders, parts and answering my stupidest questions. Chris at Jet Maniac for the rebuilds the parts and dealing with my general BS. Chris at Air Time Products for the many parts, (they are hard to miss) and my many questions about them, he is great guy to talk to. Blowsion just because they have stuff. Freeride innovations for some rockin' parts. Rad Dudes for cables and exhaust. I can't remember his name at Cold Fusion (I think it's Chris) for some awesome billet. I had a ton of help from the guys at my work in the machine shop, fab shop, composites shop and purchasing that without them, well I don't know (it just wouldn't have been as awesome). And all of the guys on X-H2o that have had the nerve to cut up a nearly perfect ride just to make it so and show the way.

And you can't deny it is still a squarenose.

I hope it starts

Chris

Is that a sexy backside or what

Can't get it started. I am getting nothing when I hit the start switch. Engine will turn over if I jump the relay but outside of that, no clicks or anything. If anybody has any ideas please chime in.

Bring it out tomorrow and we will get r going.

Might sound dumb - but you got your lanyard in? If you can jump the switch and it turns over that may mean your kill switch is killing it constantly. I have a different switch if you want to try.

Think I got it. Broken wire on Ebox plug. Can't start it up now its a little late. Dont think I will be there tomorrow but I will be busting all day tomorrow to have it there Sunday.

Alright so stupid rookie mistake cost me my motor. While the cylinders are being bored up to 84mm waiting for new pistons and domes. I decided to finish off my hood.

Before this it was just a patched together shell. Bonded in some .125 kydex with six10 and shaped it with the heat gun. Next, overlayed 1ply carbon/kevlar by hand nothing overly dramatic. Previous owner had put in drains on aft edge of hood seal. So I now use them for supplemental air intake. The hoses into the engine compartment go into intake closeout panels about 1.5 in with a half in to the top should work out pretty good.

Like a scalded dog. Did a shakedown on sun found that I needed a restrictor in fuel return line. Went back out yesterday and with a couple small adjustments it was awesome. Power on tap from idle to wfo. It is now a 753 with 33cc domes and 170psi compression. Might even go another size smaller on the domes since I am running avgas/pump mix

Got the ski dialed. Novi-tec nailed the carb build. Burned two tanks through it now and I couldn't be happier. For some reason I have yet to figure out the Imron paint did not get along with the primer and did not bond to it. Paint on the hull started coming off in sheets. Sucks but I really dont care. This thing absolutely rips and I'm gonna just keep running it. Winter if for cosmetic problems.
