Freestyle Krash 50 Cal Footrocket Kit

^^^^^ I would say its a combination of things. The bottom hull design, weight and the width of the ski. The surf layup comes with built in tubbies and until you see 1 in person you don't realize just how wide it is. My ski should weigh just around 300 lbs but you would not know it while ridding. The surf layup having that front foothold really allows you to ride with your knee on and over the firewall keeping the bow down even more. The bottom of the hull has a really nice chine design allowing it to V thru the chop. The 50cal rides so planted ( no periling ) it lets you concentrate more on your setup and less on fighting the whitewash and chop. All this being said I did come from riding FX1s ( 2x4 ) to the 50cal ( flying barge )

Are you keeping the waterbox? It sounds awesome but damn its loud lol
Yes I'll be running the Krash waterbox. Loud and I get along well, had a straight pipe crossplane R1 and my GTO as well...mmm

You should run a big tank. You can always just put less gas in it. I can tell you all our friends that have little tanks always want to ride more than they have fuel for. My new rad dudes tank is a little more than 3.5 gallons and I already know I will wish it was bigger.

That sucks about the chin pad. Krash is just putting tallies up on the board.
I bought the 3 gal tank from @Ochocoronas
Like to support this site and fellow skiers. Especially when locked out of getting more jet ski parts heh.

I still have a stock SJ tank with the billet puckups, etc that I got along with my engine trade. It is just huge and ugly and might upgrade to a Powerfactor pipe down the line if I get a PV engine.

On that thread, I probably need to do more research, but lazy for now since I'm getting ready for work. But for 2017 I'm going to be at World Finals for racing so kinda interested to do some Amature freestyle just because I could. I'd be last most likely, but both the ET967 and ET1107 wouldn't be class legal huh? My Group K would...I think, but not sure how far it would get me.

That new ET900x is looking good! The tpe 900co is pretty good as well. Or, find a 900r or 900rr used since they are like 10k new. 900r for sale right now in the classifieds ;)

My ski came deliberately damaged remember? Scratches all over it and a gouge with a non Krash sticker smack on the bottom of it covering it up... her prop came destroyed...

There is a potential they just need to learn how to package things?

I recall your hull being toted around Daytona as a display for anyone to touch, pickup, stand on, etc. prior to your purchase and having it re-packaged and shipped across the states. I certainly find it difficult to believe it would have come from the factory with a wiseco piston sticker covering a scratch on the bottom deck. Chit happens, you said it yourself that Nick/Krash has been great about taking care of any issues and reimbursing/replacing/returning parts when needed. Not making an excuse, but be realistic. These aren't chit box highroller hulls being passed off as something they're not.

See...I like the idea of a 900cc for AM freestyle. Big enough for me for sure. But 1. the 900cc comp engines are almost double the price of an ET 967/1107 and 2. the ET900 has to run on race gas. At this point I'm not sure if I really want to get into freestyle that hardcore because the 50 Cal is more of a freeride hull, lets face it. I'd love to do some competition just because I'd be there and I like pushing my limits, but $8k investment to do that...eh not so sure yet.

Depending on the hit of my Group K 845 might be better off just keeping it if I want to try my hand at some freestyle comp. Just to me it seems like I would be bringing a squirt gun to a bazooka fight haha. Although one of my favorite parts of watching the AM freestyle in person this year was the hood tricks competitors, quite entertaining and involved for the crowd.

ET Comp legal engine retails for $5600, You dont necessarily have to run the engine on race gas but for full potential it is of course recommended. If you have any questions about the comp engine or any ET engine in general pm myself or @sinisterjosh209. We would be more than happy to sort you out

Cool cool, thank you! A little rich for my blood still. I'd like to actually ride my ski before I make any expensive engine decisions.

The 900's (TPE, XS900RR) seam to feel stronger than the SS 964/9whatever cc. These are stroker motors vs Stock Stroke Motors.
I'm sure they do, but still for the price the 967/1107 will have enough power for me. Just depends on how deep I want to go down the freestyle rabbit hole since I also race and am still recovering from knee surgery hahah.

Your missing the point bubba. That sticker and scratches left in a crate to come to me and I was told NOTHING about it... that prop was obviously seen when pump was installed however it left without her know anything about it. Both chin pads she's had troubles with could be in the same boat.

@chixwithtrix A 3 gallon tank is better than a kart tank. Your on the right track! And that tank should work well with a lay down pipe. Just make sure when you set your hull inserts up you push it as close to the flywheel cover as possible so you don't have to redo them when you get a new pipe. Maybe consider running the battery in the factory location for the time being to help balance the weight.

Hmm, will have to do some research on them for the future. Shortblock 89mm bore has a nice price.

As far as the inserts, what are people using to glue them in? Glass them or just glue, combo...?
Looks at a couple of threads, but not a whole lot of explanation.
