Krashindustries.com is selling 997cc RTR Skis for $12,000.00

I'll chime in here because this thread helped me decided to pull the trigger on a 50cal. I am a season in on my rtp and I like the ski a lot. I have ridden a bunch of different surf hulls now and still love the way my ski handles. No complaints on the hull. The engine runs strong but it took a bit to get there. My carbs needed some tuning, but now it pulls hard. My biggest issue was the mid shaft housing. The front seal popped out and rusted up the bearing. I had to pull the engine forward to replace it. I just went with a jetmaniac housing to get away from the china krash unit. The starter Bendix chipped a tooth off. Probably also Chinese. I put in a Yamaha one. These are great jet skis for the $. Just keep in mind some of the parts will need to be replaced sooner than a if you bought a brand new superjet. However, after owning my Krash for a year, I am never going back to a superjet. I hope this helps.

For anyone who actually owns an RTP can hit up the RTP only page. It is a private page for RTP owners only. This is to prevent all the bs "you should have gotten a this or that" and allow real problem solving. We all have one now and need to deal with it. We also don't have the factory propaganda just some people trying to make the best of it.

I own an RTP. SKi came with some minor issues end of last year. It was all resolved within 4 weeks.

This year was my first full season with it. I rode my reaper for 4-5 months, religously 1-2x a week burning 2-4 tanks of fuel each ride. Do the math on hours/tanks burned. The ONLY break down I had all year was a CDI failed towards the end of the season, had a replacement under warranty within 5 days.

Friend last year was on his 50 cal all season long with no issues.

Is what it is.

Hello everyone. I have read through all 52 pages and took me over 3 hours. No one had mentioned if the new 2019 models have been updated fixing some of the issues. I came here to decide if I wanted to pull the trigger on a foot rocket. I currently own a 18 superjet and been riding for 2 years and now it's time to get another one. My look on this is they offer financing. That will help me get one without a major cost upfront. I have a choice of a 2020 or a left over 2019 at a discounted price. What would you guys recommend although Nick says there isn't any difference besides graphics? Hasn't been a lot of people coming back that preordered in 2017 telling us anything new. Also noone talking about the new ones.

I would go with the 2019. And spend the saved money on fuel. Also read through all the threads and facebook posts etc and make a list of all the issues people have run into. Then check all those things over with whomever you are buying the ski through. Most of the things I have seen have been minor, but better to fix them now and not have them come up on your 3 day lake vacation.

For instance from the pwctoday thread: "The dealership found the electrical issue to be damaged wiring under the flywheel near the stator. Apparently this has been an issue with several KV997 engines. "

Dammit. I wasn't sure when I told them what I wanted. I may have to redo the loan application. I figured the carbon hull wouldn't make too much of a difference because I never rode either ski.

Yes that was something I was going to discuss right from the get go. I am continuing to look and missed an opportunity to ride one at daytona freeride. I was there I just didn't know they were having demos.

That’s what I’m getting as krash hulls are fairly heavy so the carbon will make a difference and I know someone with a glass one who said he wishes he got the carbon and it’ll be his next purchase

Krashes website only lists the weight of the glass not of the carbon which is weird.

My 2018 has been super reliable after all the small kinks were worked out in the first 30 days.

I to this day havent touched the carb screws from out of the box.

Also the high compression domes can be ordered. Newer skis should come with an updated power valve design too along with a version 2 or 3 cdi.

Thanks for that update. I spoke with Nick Barton about my concern and this is the reply I got.

"Yes early on we had some issues with the units, CDIs, flywheel engagement. We have come along way since then and there are hundreds of them out there now which is great and people purchasing second and third units.

We do offer that extra support as being a new product their were unforeseen issues and we wanted our customers to have a great experience.

Now with the growing dealer network the benefit is they have qualified mechanics that if issues arise they can fix them to get customers back on the water faster. We also keep a lot of parts on the ground so speed of parts is faster."

Couldn't ask for better service from this guy.
