I THANK THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED, CONTRIBUTED AND BOUGHT SHIRTS.

BUT ALL WAS SAID AND DONE THOSE WHO DID NOT GIVE BACK TO THE CAUSE AND BAILED ON THE CAUSE are the cause of it's demise.

i was and still am in the hole from the event that should have been killer.

I THANK THE SPONSORS, and all who helped.

THE CHARITY BASED FREERIDE PROMOTERS PUT MORE TIME AND EFFORT IN TO ENSURING THE PARTICIPANTS HAVE A GREAT TIME, IT HAS BEEN LEFT UP TO A FEW BAD APPLES, I DON'T BELIEVE IN MASS PUNISHMENT!!! , BUT HERE IT IS.

FREERIDE IS A SPORT NOT A FREE RIDE,

I still have shirts, i have given some out as gifts and donated back to the sport as give aways at the gulfport races.

we can plan a weekend to get together, but there will be nothing more than that!!!!!!!

I won't be doing more than I did last year which is set the date, maybe get a permit, maybe not, personally I see no real reason to obtain one and it was a major PITA to obtain one and it came in the mail two days after the event had taken place!

like i stated in another post after this ride, me (our group) and some others made every attempt possible at the host restaurant to make donations or do whatever we were supposed to do and they repeatedly told us that they didnt have a clue to what we were talking about. sorry, i (we) dont feel that was our fault. dont worry, we all spent alot of money that weekend, maybe with the wrong people. if you need to sell another shirt, ill take a large.

1000.00 in shirts, permits 100 - 150.00, 1mil in liability insurance ( approx. 1000.00) for 3 days,

this is just to start. i had a lot of great sponsors this year but still came up short.

I believe the city of Navarre required it,thats the thing here folks there are freerides and there are events,Lake Martin was a freeride in its purest form,Navarre Beach was an event.I clarify that by saying that at a freeride you post up a date and a place and peeps show up and ride, there is no free food,no drink specials,no happy hour ,no raffles,no hood races etc etc..At an event some place has to host it,city, county and or state officials have to be consulted, permits have to be issued, insurance has to be paid for, there usually is free food, raffles, hood races etc etc, there is a difference there.

Justin, post up your PayPal please.

When I bought my 5 or 6 shirts, I thought that's pretty much where your expenses ended.

i didn't make it to the navvare beACH this past year to financail problems. i went to daytona and it was just to big a crowded. the x2travaganza was my first and prob my favorite. followed closey by the smith lake ride which i missed again this year. this year has not been a very good year for me. if the x2 ride, and the smith lake ride has a date set, i will go ahead and get off of work, and bring a good bit of friends with me. the smith lake ride actually made my friend by a blaster. he is 34 and it was his first ski he has ever owned, and he loves it. thats what small freerides do, get bigger as time goes on. justin, give it one more shot, but dont make it so organized maybe.... just get some stickers instead of some shirts or something!! give it one more shot!!

Dam, I was/am a broke azz beyotch this year and now feel guilty for having even gone to the ride. (obviously I can't hide the reason I am broke-I DON'T BELIEVE IN DAVE RAMSEY) LMAO

I guess I assumed that because it costs me nothing to put on the SMith Lake Ride every year that you had no out of pocket either.

Justin-w/I 1st read this I sincerly thought about wiggin out on yo azz-but-I am sitting here typing and thinking about where u have these rides-It has to be a major PITA compared to what I do.

Would u have to go thru all this if it was 'not' a major organized event?

Make a post-invite some people-then u have no control over the internet. lol

If we had as many riders at a Smith Lake event-I would have all the same issues Paul and co had at Lanier. The reason they leave us alone is-it's a small ride. This last Sunday I watched the popo at the boat ramp for 2 hours while we were wearin out boat wakes which is highly illegal here and they never even came over. (tickets might be in the mail) lol Had there been 100+ skis, we would have had major problems. 15-20 skis-nobody cared.

I do understand your frustration and at the same time your desire to put on a mega ride-all your contacts are always SOOOOO nice to us. If u are in the mood next spring-KISS. Make your life easier and enjoy YOUR ride!
I promise none of us will gripe.
