Freestyle Lee Stones New Hull!

What was Lee thinking, an angled tray? Pure madness. No sense in trying a new design and widening the spectrum of hull options. Lee next time consult the experts on the X before attempting a design change. You might look different riding and we can't have that. Long live the SN and 650SX LMAO.

doesn't matter what combination of hands/feet you remove from the bars/tray if it doesn't look good and hes not smooth...apparantley the judges agreed with droc

Bingo. One trick no matter how new does not make you a winner.last year Dk caught some critism for his run. People said he did not have the.same big tricks as others. I watched everybodys and if I was a judge he would have gotten my vote. Why? Because he had better overall execution than the others and more consistency. I would guess the judges thought the same with Roi. This is not sating Lee's run was not great with his new tricks. They may have just liked Roks overall run better. This is not just one judges view but the majority of judges felt the same.

Like i said before Rok is a better rider and goes bigger and should have been able to win. But his run on sat didnt show that. Roks ski died and he couldnt get it started (felt like forever) during the run. As far as a run goes and thats what they are judged on Rok would have been 2nd.

Hey what do I know anyways, it was so hot standing there i was about to pass out the whole time.

I think a lot the critcism boils down to one thing; Character, or rather a lack of. I think most of us can say that we were impressed with the runs from a technical and ability standpoint but the tops acts seemed to lack that little bit of character where the riders draw in, interact and get the crowds involved in the routine. Not trying to criticize at all, just my observations from some of the posts in this thread. I think that these types of runs take a hell of a lot of focus and concentration but may not leave much room for the warm and fuzzies that crowds expect. It's not bad in my opinion, it's just diferent from what it's been in the past and typically people don't like change.

Competition was fierce this year with a whole new wave of new talented riders pushing each other. Sometimes it's good to wave to the crowd and other times it's just time to throw down and leave nothing on the table and I think this was just one of those years. :dunno:

What was this thread about again? Oh yeah, Lee's new hull. The bare hull on the stand looked kind of rough (scratches and dirty), but once you got past that or got to check out the fully built ski, it was a sweet design. I really like the way the tray was set up, and the ski looked very different than most. I didn't get down and check out the finish too close, but it looked better finished than my EME hull at a glance.

Back to the thread's new direction - Rok made all his tricks look very fluid and almost effortless, even though he didn't do any new or semi-new tricks, it was amazing to watch, and was the crowd favorite (at least in the last bleacher section to the right where I was spectating). Rok is a big dude, and made the run look easy, even on a "big" hull like a Rickter.

well said...i find it funny the things said on here...lol its like politics ...u cant ever be good enough... the best part is the in put thats negative from someone not into the freestyle sport...

Rok was deff the most fun to watch,Being on a somewhat normal sized ski made it even more entertaining,I think it gave him better flow and motion than the micro hull riders had.He always appeared to be going a little bigger than others as well..I know he must have been freaking when the ski wouldnt start back up on sunday in the finals,I thought he was hashed for a bit. There is deff some politics in judging freestyle,if that would have happened to any other rider in the middle of their run, they would not have won. That said he was the best there...Rok is a smoother bigger air rider,Lee is a more technical faster rider.I think he shot himself in the foot with the endless backflips and barrel rolls...I think everyone is aware they can be done infinite now.Live and learn for next yr Bud
